Went to Carolina this past week-end and went 12.70's after getting the car to hook. Still bogging the motor on the launch at 4000 rpm. Here are the links to the videos. I hope this works.

Thanks for the compliment. The car was really running good on Saturday. I think it's time for some MSD ignition componants, like maybe a digital 6 plus that has the built in 2-step controller. I'm not leaving at wide-open throttle, just bringing up the rpm's to 4K, dumping the clutch, then stomping the throttle. Motor was still bogging on the launch. Maybe with that adjustable rev. limiter, I can leave at 4K but at wide-open throttle.

what happens if you bring the revs up to around 5K and dump the clutch? When I had a fox with stickies 5k-6k worked great for me.

LXtasy,

Never tried it at those revs before. I'm also trying to keep from exploding my T-5 which I know is coming. Hopefully later than sooner. The reason I want some MSD ignition parts is for some consistency while launching the car. I saw someone at SVT day @ Carolina running a Fox like mine with a two-step. He ran on his number every time, with his T-5 car. I saw him make 5 passes while bracket racing racing and hit his number within .02-.04 on every run. Not bad for a manual trans. car.

I know a lot of people do not like Mallory, but we have had a few MSD,s go out on us. We got a Mallory HyFire 6 Control. It was cheeper has all of the
same stuff as the digital 6 plus and a window switch. Witch is nice with nitrous. It is also easier to use. It has some other stuff the MSD dosnt. I have had a digital 6 plus. They are a nice step up from a 6AL. But I like the Mallory better.

Chillerman. The stock t-5 will break when it breaks. I had SEVERAL 5k+ launches on a transmission that had over 200K miles on it with only a new clutch installed before I got the car. Yes, I blew the stock t-5 that is only rated for 300ftlbs of tq. But funny thing is was it broke during normal driving a couple of weeks after the last track adventure.

btw, you can be consistant with a 5speed without a 2step. Just takes some practice that is all. I bracket raced that car alot at carolina.

here is a vid of 5spd. from back in july 06. first time on sticky tires.

I have another video somewhere of inside view of gauges and you can see the rpm i launched at and was shifting at. Just takes practice that is all.

Thanks for all of the reply's. I would rather not spend the money on the ignition parts. I'd rather have some skinnies for the front to reduce some of the rolling resistance. I really don't have any plans on adding nitrous or any other power adder. Would be nice to try and get the car to run high 11's, but I realize it's gonna take more power than i'm making at this time. I like how the car runs now. Of course, always want to go faster. It's only money right?

LXtasy,

Nice videos of your car at the strip. Cool video of the long burnout. How bad did you trash your tires doing that?

Pretty badly. lol Still didn't pop them though. Could pick up leaves in the yard though with the cords all out. hahahah

I no longer own that car. 05saleen's son CHris has the car.

btw, don't be afraid of nitrous. With it "tuned" right. You have little to no worries.

My truck has run 5 or 6 times on the 1/8th with 300 shot and all stock internals. No problems yet. I don't plan on doing it myself but the times were kick ass and if someone puts $ on the table might be worth a possible rebuild.

I fugured that if I ever did any nitrous. I would definitely have it properly tuned for it.
