sounds like a war to me.

either we do that on their doorstep, or they do it on ours.

There are G.I.'s like him after every conflict. This is the norm; everyone deals with it in different ways.

Sounds like dude just admitted to at least two murders and a Hague convention violation. Hopefully the hippie gets put on trial. What is the point of him having a press conference about all this? Sounds like he wants attention or some shit.

sounds like a war to me.

This.

I don't know why anyone thinks we are so advanced (socially)..that war is some grotesque idea. We still have people ripped out of their cars and shot in the face in the middle of the streets here in this "first-world".

No amount of I-phone apps or facebook status updates will advance us to the point where nations will set aside their shady agendas and verbally handle their squabbles. "War is hell".

If it wasn't for the fucking media we would have dealt with Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq much faster and with fewer American casualties. I, for one, say fuck the media. Just like anything contracted...you make a request of WHAT you need done NOT HOW you want it done. You want us to go to war and bring the other country to it's knees? Fine..but don't tell us how.

I don't feel there is another country that cares more for collateral damage like the U.S.. Check out how some of the other allies handle business down range. They don't fuck around. They value the shit out of their troops and give a back seat to public opinion back home (because their citizens seem to understand that war is 'war'). The US Soldier/Marine has to bend to the will of our audience that is the ever-wavering U.S. public opinion. The current ROE reflects that.

Now, I am not going to argue what war/police action is justifiable..just that when our military is called-up to "go to war" that they are allowed to do just that without tags attached. Give them an objective, stand the fuck back and wait for results. Don't nitpick or you will add to the U.S. death-toll and time it takes to achieve the objective.

Marines are bad motherfuckers and need to stay bad motherfuckers. They ain't the peace corps.

I have three years in the "nice" Middle East so I have never walked in this mans shoes. But he seems to be blaming everyone but himself for bad choices he made. This is "you cant handle the truth, you need me on that wall, in your fagaty white uniform all over again. He didn't stand up for what was right, he went with the flow. He should be tried for murder from his self admittence. He should be put to death for saying "with that being said" 5 fucking million times and annoying the shit out me.

Sounds like a pu$$y to me, even stuck a knife in the back of his fellow marines with his press conference. He probably went sad and thats why hes back in the states. Even said himself that he didnt know where the fire was coming from when they put a rocket in the house that doesnt mean that they killed in cold blood his ass is still talking today right, must mean someone made the right call that day. I don't know what to think either , I've been in 13 years at the end of this month , been infantry the whole time .... Been to Kosovo in 00 afghanistan in 01 , and Iraq in 03-04 07-08 and 09-10 .... I've seen plenty and been blown up my share of times , also have a PH , everyone deals with shit how they deal with it , myself it usually comes out after mass alcohol and people start reminding me of shit but to each is own , I've seen guy buckle before even going outside the wire , all the media knows is what they hear , never the good , always the bad , you never hear about the frat house doing a gang rape on the new freshman , or anything to that effect , but when a leader makes a command decision that someone feels is "out of line" his career is over

Military service in the US is voluntary, so that means this former marine voluntarily killed Iraqis illegally and did other bad things that no one made him do. Sounds like he has a guilty conscience. And yes the Army is the DOT!
