I've noticed since I bought my car that it used a little bit of brake fluid...which we thought* was a bad hydroboost/master cylinder, for which I have a replacement for. Today I was replacing a messed up rear caliper and went to bleed the system and the pedal remained soft and wouldnt stiffen up. We tracked down what turned out to be an awful leak that was ended up being one of the lines going from the distribution box under the MC over to the ABS box all the way over to the passenger side by the radiator.
Now I knew this car had been in a small** front end collision about a year or so ago and was repaired by woody bilton in moncks corner. Well the leak in the line is right by where the radiator support was bent/fixed. It is no basically "peeing" on the radiator and burning off leaving lots of smoke. Im not sure if it was leaking and somehow patched, or had a super small leak and then over the course of time turned into a much bigger hole. So newho...I now have no brakes as of today, it is parked at a friends house (Matt C) in a garage where work was being performed. Does anyone have any experience bending/making brake lines for cars? I normally wouldnt find it a big deal but this 4v leaves little room to work on crap, so space is limited and crap is having to come apart :(
Just when I thought I had this car about done fixing trivial BS, I'm hit with another stumbling block. Thank god for good friends who let me borrow nice cars for extended periods of time. I am moving from my current job at Advance Auto over to Palmetto Ford for some more $...I hope commission ends up being enough to just buy a new f'n car and fix only the crap i break lol
