+1
I was waiting for s big booty to show up twerking in the middle of the road.
Music kind of had a purpose and was requested lol... The S4 owner showed up when my buddy went out to race the SRT8, then jumped the start and tried to claim later that he pulled 3 cars on the C5 the first run on a fair race. Hell, we didn't even know we were racing the S4 on the first run until the Jeep was long gone! Hence the song choice, "Bitch niggaz"...
Mexico happens all the damn time up here, as long as it's not raining :)

I remember that, had duty that night or my ass would have been nailed, my neighbor lost his Ken Bell cobra that night. We never blocked roads but we used to jump on I-564 post a lookout by terminal blvd. Head toward the base flip a u-turn to go toward I-64, come through the tunnel line up and go. Roll-ons digs ect this was done late so there was really no traffic on the highway. State troopers had posted a lookout for the crew the night they got busted just out side the local hang-out. When people took off the stupid ass ricers would all follow to watch, record, try to keep up ect. Those idiots are the reason the cops knew what was up, it got out of hand and sometimes 20 plus cars would leave at the same time. This night was no different so the the state trooper lookout called it in. The cops setup roadblocks to keep other cars from entering the highway. The racers thought the coast was clear and did there thing only at the end of I-564 they were approached by a rolling blockade of trooper patrol cars going the wrong way on the highway. They nailed 30 plus cars that night (see what I mean by out of hand) and really only 4 were out to run each other so two races. Others would just try to keep up and record, or race they were always behind the T/A's tail lights when I ran out there so no telling what the hell they were doing, I know a couple of times a few lined up with me and the cars I was running. The highway was 4 lanes, so we went 4 wide a lot, others would get behind and try and keep up or park down the highway and watch, cant tell you how many times those idiots got yelled at and run off, but in the end it wasnt enough and the state made some money off of tickets and impounded cars. That was the end of street racing really for me, few exceptions if someone bates me and I dont have the wife or kids in the car its on, but haven't really went out looking for them anymore.

Did he ever get his cobra back?

Did he ever get his cobra back?
Yes, cost him a small fortune to do it though, tow was expensive 200 dollar hookup fee plus mileage and they towed it to Williamsburg close to 50 miles away, apparently the troopers had to call in a lot of tow trucks from out of the area to pick up the cars. There was a mandatory 30 day impound so he also got charged for 30 days storage at 50 dollars a day. Ended up costing him around 1700 to get it out, and the front bumper was cracked because the company didn't use a flatbed to tow it so they damaged during the tow, he had to sign a waiver the night of the bust releasing the company from liability for any potential damage to the cobra. The tow company tried to put a mechanics lean on the car while it was there too. Ended up with tickets for the car being lowered, tinted, missing emissions equipment (no cats), speed contest, reckless driving, lost his license for 6 months, and had to get SR 22 insurance, he was running a S14 with a RB26 with a silvia front end and a wide body kit when they got busted. By the time he paid the fines, court cost, impound fees, atourney, the navy got bent him over backward with reduction in rate, half months pay for 2 months, and 45 days restriction (pretty much the equivalent of jail time.) He told me he was out like 8K and that wasn't even going to include the cost of the insurance. A lot of the idiots with the junk rice burners never got their cars back.
Its not smart to roll out with a bunch of cars to go to the spot to run, draws way to much attention that's what camera's are for maybe one or two extra but anything more than that is asking for it.
It's out and about, nowhere near the areas mentioned above (I did say it was in Mexico in the video after all... ;)) and roll 2-3 deep usually with the occasional 4th car tagging along for spotting purposes... Cameras/Go-pros are good enough to say what needs to be said nowadays, no need for a huge crowd, this ain't Discovery Channel...

What boat are you on up here?
I was on the Truman, but I'm on Med hold right now due to a concussion I got in June so I didn't get to deploy :( Hoping to get back onto a ship fairly soon. What about you?
If you're not busy next Saturday, we are heading out to that Va street outlaws thing at Colonial Beach Dragway if you wanna go. I've got room for one more in the Mega Cab, just let me know.

I'm on the maryland. I've got a good friend on the truman, hitchcock hes an elt and so am I.
I planned on going racing friday or saturday, but 3 hours is a bit much. I'll probably go to herford, nc which is only 45 mins away on saturday. And my shit is licensed in SC and I have a SC drivers license.
I know Hitchcock, he was my mentor while I was on the ship. I'm an ELT too. We aren't going up to race on Saturday, just watch. If you ever want to bring your stuff to hang out on a Friday/Saturday let me know and you can come with us. We usually end up either at Jenro's over in VB or Home Depot in Hampton, although HD is a much younger crowd and usually a waste.

Nice extra lazy technician, I was to for 11 years did a year on Connecticut, 4 years on Theodore Roosevelt, and 4 at NPTU Charleston. I Work for Duke Energy now, when your ready to get out let me know, same goes for you yota, pay and benefits are great, and I can guarantee you a interview, provided you can pass the POSS exam, from there its up to you.
Cool deal. Thanks!
Seems like a ton of opportunities out there for ELTs (and "knuckle draggers" as well ;)) from what I've seen. It's a tough choice when you're trying to decide whether to take $90k NOW from the Navy, or wait out your contract and make the big civilian money in just a couple more years... I needed one signature from the RDMC on my ship before my package would've been sent off to personnel for my reenlistment when I got my concussion and everything got put on hold. At first I was really bummed, now I'm thinking it may have been a good thing. Time, and my next command's climate, will tell.

Its much easier to qualify EWS at sea if you can, there are so many people trying to get it a NPTU dont believe the sea myth about how you can do it there, there is a huge waiting list if you dont have it, but if you qualify at sea you will be put into quals as soon as you show up, which of course makes the list for those not qualified take even longer. Higharchy of quals goes like this Officer students, Enlisted Students, Staff, with the Boats being old and having to be shut down for repairs constantly, it cuts into the training margin significantly. If a student especially a JO needs the praq fac you will get bumped.
Get the degree while you are in, it helps most companies are looking for 2 plus years of experience qualified as EWS to get into SRO class, or 6 years and a techinical degree FYI. Also if you dont finish the degree while you are in you will have to pay out of state tuition for Thomas Eddison and that will tripple the price per class.
Another piece of advice never trust a student, they will screw you in a heart beat and sell you out quick, If your on 626 they will burn you and make a example out of you, 635 you will be alright, if I were you I would tell the detailer that you want to go to 635 the COC is much better there, at least it was in march when I got out.

I really don't want to go to sea again. So if I qualify EWS there then it will just help, if not, atleast I'll have my degree and the operational skills. I'll definitely keep you in mind. I was talking to the wife and she wants to go to NC and I want to go to port st lucie, fl. We'll see though.
