For this one, we are trying to keep the rules very simple. As we continue, we may have to tweak the rules a little. The rules are as follow; factory dash, working headlights, no tire bigger than a 28", factory windows. As said before, the rules are very simple, I know this street car catergory have alot of gray areas and different views on what is actually a street car, but we have to start somewhere and go from there. Hope these rules is a start in the right direction!

If it is a street car, then it should be street legal and that means it should have DOT legal street tires..IMO...if not it is just a race car posing as a street car which is what half of these cars are anyway.

Making the 275s work is rough if youre going fast

Blue Skunk

So is it just a 28" shootout or is the 275 part just to entice street cars to race with race cars?

Put slicks on. Or if u think you can make the 275s work, use them.

Yes, if you think you can get radials to work, it's your choice.

Blue Skunk
08-14-2013, 07:41 PM
Your missing the point. There are no street cars driving around on 28" slicks, only race cars. With the current rules, that makes this a 28" shootout, not a street car shootout.

With the current rules, what works on the track is irregardless in this race. The winner will be wearing slicks.

Its like WWhittle said, you may have some heavy hitters showing up with the rules you currently have. No street car will have a chance.

Not trying to muddy the rules, just clearify them.

BAD BOB
08-14-2013, 08:49 PM
Knew it would come down to this. How many that are bitching actually race at the track or would race in this event? The track is just trying to put on a race to make those who WILL come and race a place to/reason to do so. We went to a "street car" race the at the HOH a month ago and the rules were basically a small block race. No lexan, no fiberglass body parts other than hood and must have at least factory front or rear seats and sb on 28"s or smaller. I was on radials and probably the heaviest there and probably the only one that could REALLY drive down the road, but did we bitch? No bc we spent nothing extra to race in it and made it to the finals. The moral of the story, done bitch if you 1. don't have a dog in the fight or 2. don't have to pay shit to do it! Thanks

We did start to renovate our restrooms. We started with the ladies restroom first, because they were a quick fix and the project could be completed within a certain timeframe. The woman's restrooms are basically completed, except for putting up a few minor things(pics in stalls, touchless hand sanitizers, etc). Unfortunately, the rain came and hindered our effort to start on the men's. In the past 3 months, we have only been able to race 5 days, therefore little revunue has been generated, plus we made other improvements such as extending Gaurdrail on the left side to end of track, making somewhat of a sand trap area and minor landscaping around restrooms.

We have a very unique theme for our men's restrooms, one that's once complete will be one of the best restrooms around. We are just in the process of getting all the fixtures and materials in place to start the project. We are very proud of what we have done to our ladies restrooms and that same effort, time and creativity will be carried over to the men's. I assure you, just bare with us!

Street car rules should simply be current tags and insurance. If your shit is tagged and insured then throw a tire on it and run...

No need for a cruise, no need for tire restriction or anything else. Larger car count and no bitching about race cars dressed as street cars.

[QUOTE=schardbody;233340]You can cheat at any game. If someone is willing to cheat their way Into a "street car race" then I'm sad for them.

And I'm sure you don't like my version of the rules because your car isn't tagged and insured, probably because its a track only car that you'd like to enter in a street car race.[/

Hey my cars fit the rules for 4 different street car races. Carolina, thunder valley, Dorchester, and bowman maybe y'all should catch up with why the tracks are making the rules that way. Must be working!!:bigthumb:
