Gonna have to call BS on this, if it is done by electrical voltage how would the plastic panels get the signal, color correction done in the video editing is my guess

I also like the heat sensitive paint, makes the paint ugly but still a cool effect.

yup, you pick a color that different from everything else in the video and adjust only that.
