That is at my home 1/4 mile track in Bowling Green KY. I haven't ever seen the kid there because I never went on bike nights, but I hear he has been involved in racing for quite some time. Think about it to. He would have to be. Even at my age theres no way I would hop on that bike and make two full passes. He has been on a bike before. Maybe not a Busa making a full pass but he has been on a bike somewhere.

Maybe he has does not mean he has the mental capacity to handel it when things go wrong. Or when its to bad for anyone to do anything about. He's just to young for that kind of responsibilty. Just because he can make it down the track does not make it right.

Yea just having a little fun. It does bother me. He's not old enough to think about the consequences of what hes doing. He just knows hes having fun. His parents should know better.

I see your side and I don't. I bet if he was doing bad things then he would know the consequences?
I think he does mainly because a busa for anybody is a large powerful bike to be on. I am sure he was on some type of riding equipment at an early age.
I know I wouldn't be able to handle that bike. Heck, I doubt I can handle any bike at the track. And I have ridden ALITTLE bit to begin with. I am 26 years old

Depends on what situation he's ever had. Just because your 12 doesn't mean your going to think like every other 12 year old out there. Some kids had to grow up early, and its possible that he may very well have. Mental capacity is yes, effected by age, but psychologists have found that if forced to your brain will prematurely advance itself if the need comes. Who know's though, He looked more like a small chinese man to me, being that hes about the size of one.

Michael Jackson is an example of this. Dude had to grow up fast under pressure from his ambitious father, had no childhood and is now trying to live out that missing childhood by acting like/hanging out with little kids.
So, in essence...this busa kid might be building a small choo-choo train track in his back yard in the future.

I agree. Would you say he was doing bad if he was in a 8 second door car?

And that leads me to my question:
How old do you have to be to take a bike/car down the strip?
I always thought you had to be a licensed driver unless you were riding a quad, jr. dragster or a small CC bike.

Is that standard practice for most tracks to allow kids to drive ride what they want or is it a case by case?

not sure, i knew the starting age was 13 for full size. Jr drags was 8+. The only way I gained the experience I have now IS by driving from that age. I raced sprint karts prior to, so drag racing was just moving up to a larger car and more power.

I think its standard practice to start driving at the track in full cars at 15, Some are earlier I know. At the track back home there was a girl with a jr dragster that was going some low 30's (outlaw jr). She would make a pass in it and get in the big car and go 5.70's...80's and she was like 14-15.
