Hey guys,
My name is Jeff. I've lived in the charleston area since 1992 when I was first stationed here. I've been in the racing scene for the most part of the last 14 years (Bracket/grudge/street). A couple 10 second cars and my last build would have been an 8 second car (Nitrous huffing Bowtie block LSX 454) on a lot gas, but a 3rd spinal surgery put an end to all those plans and I sold the entire project this past summer.
So now I settled for a factory car that has respectable power and aggressive looks! This is my first vette.
So, I'm a medically retired veteran that works for a local Department of Defense contractor and I travel all over, training Army troops. I've been gone 100 days in the last 12 months and it has really started to suck:?
Anyways, looks like some fun over here for sure!

It damn near did one on me today at 50mph on me in 2nd gear when I matted it. Road was cold!
Hey Crew, thanks for the Welcome!!!
Looks like some nice fast cars here. To me, I don't really care what the weapon is; if it is fast, I like it!
To answer some questions, yes there are a couple things done to the car. Right now it has Long tubes, twin 3" high flow cats, and 3" pipes back to the stock mufflers and a mail order tune. All of which were done to the car when I bought it Friday from a guy near Miami and drove it back saturday morning. It is a 2006 and the car only had 9,900 miles on it. It still smells new inside.
I have a few more bolt ons intended for the car and then maybe a camshaft/tune this spring.

You know better than that. Corvette owners dont drive at night and they dont go to the track to race them either.:joke:

Yes, that was me. I was heading to work around that time. Where were you?

Yes, I plan on taking it to a 1/4mi track. I want to see if I can get a 10 out of it.
I dont plan on punishing it like I used to do my f-bodies(6k rpm dumps on a 250 shot b/c these cars are too expensive to fix) by any means, but I will drive the car as it was intended to be driven by its engineers. No garage queens in my arsenal, EVER!

The drive back was fantastic. Weather was perfect. I feared the car would not be comfortable for a 9 hour trip, but it was more comfortable than any car I've owned with the exception of my 96 Impala SS (which I regrettably sold last year). I got approximately 27mpg staying around 80mph, so I only had to stop and fill up once.

Not asking too much with those mods at all, biggest problem will be traction.

yes, you are right. Its going to have to be a mild launch. My biggest concern will be traction for the 1-2 shift at 7k RPM. It will definitely have to be a sticky track. On the corvetteforum, there are a handful that have done it bonestock down to the paper filter and stock tires. Even more who have done it by just swapping to a sticky tire. My biggest advantage is the car weighs only 3,100 pounds fully dressed!
Iwas looking at the pics of your car. That is one sick looking puppy!!!!! I love the bullying look of the cobras!

And that's it in a nutshell, damn go cart only weighs 3100lbs! Those guys knocking off 10sec ET's stock are doing it in -da that we don't have here though. But with the extra 40-50rwhp your rocking getting that 10 shouldn't be an issue. I'd get a set of 18" sticky tires though for the track, those stock tires will probably be a joke with your power and a cold track.

Well I appreciate it, anytime you want to trade just let me know!

Berkeley is the cheaper of the counties. You would feel you've been raped even more if you lived in Charleston or Dorchester county.
But for some reason I still think the cars worth it. I think the fun factor will more than offset the raping from Berkeley Co.

When i registered my dually dorchester bent me the hell over. They told me that the truck was worth 16k, i said SOLD! They didnt think it was too funny. How the hell is a 10 year old truck worth 16 thousand dollars?

That must be their magic number, they had my Explorer at $16k also. When I disputed it they made me get a written statement from a Ford dealership with the retail price in order to lower my taxes.

Also considering its a 30 minute drive to the tax office in summerville from the shop.
