View Full Version : My car over the last 4 1/2 years

Well I bought this car in November of 2005 from a guy in Summerville... it had 90k miles on it along with a "built transmission" and a fresh 355 w/ new GM heads on it. His daughter had been driving it for a few years and ended up over heating, which led to the rebuild.
I drove the car for a year or so before I started to tear into it, even though it was my DD. I figured I would share some pictures that I have collected over the last few years....
Here is the car when I first bought it

How about that built transmission? It sure didn't last.

For those of you who don't know about my motor set up, It's a forged 12.8:1 cam only motor with bone stock heads on it. I put the motor together to take 200+ worth of gas. It's also got a 4L60E built by MonteC and a 3800ish converter from Cameron at TCS.
I don't think I could have come this far without the help of those involved over the past few years... I know it's not much, but it keeps me busy and should be pretty nasty down the road.
I have to get the rear end sorted out and then I might add some heads by the end of the year.

Got the 12-bolt in the car this weekend, only to be cut short by DS issues. The aftermarket aluminum shaft only had about 3/16 of an inch play front and back, which is odd.
I just got back from Joint & Clutch, they are putting a 1310/1350 conversion joint on the back end and installing a slip yolk that is 3/4in shorter. It should be done and in by Thursday. Once I get that in, I still need to clearance the LS1 brakes (Thanks MonteC) and have Badbob install some LCA reloacation brackets on the rear end.

Thank you! I dont have anyone specific in mind, just some fun. I am actually taking this new plate back off and installing a nitrous outlet plate that I came across tonight.
People are saying that the nozzle style plate doesn't atomize efficiently and can tear up plugs or pistons on cylinders 1 and 2. I guess the nozzles are too close to the runners.
I really just need to find the time or have someone wire this kit up the right way and tie it into my ignition box and switch panel.
I still haven't thrown the heads on it yet either, buy that should change this season.

I might be confused as hell. but how does the arming switch for the bottle heater actually work?
Is the bottle heater switch still getting power from a 12v ignition source some where? Unless where the red line crosses through the arming switch red line are actually connected to each other than I will retract my questions.
Is your pressure switch going to be mounted on bottle so it knows pressure even if bottle is closed or will it be inline?

I might be confused as hell. but how does the arming switch for the bottle heater actually work?
Is the bottle heater switch still getting power from a 12v ignition source some where? Unless where the red line crosses through the arming switch red line are actually connected to each other than I will retract my questions.
Is your pressure switch going to be mounted on bottle so it knows pressure even if bottle is closed or will it be inline?
Powered from the battery through the relay.

It can't be. won't work that way. If that is the case the switch will only activate the led.
So after I look at it again, I believe the powers for bottle heater switch is coming off of the switched side from main arming switch. Along with the purge switch, and wot switch. Hence the MAIN ARMING switch. I would hope that is how it is going to be laid out.
Sorry Matt. I quickly looked over your chart when I posted my previous question

Thank you! I am trying my best to get it ready for union in April. It's going to be a stretch to finish the kits and buy new tires now that I was slapped with vehicle taxes. I am hoping my bonus will be substantial and make up the difference.
