I wonder how much that thing weighs?
Looks like everything fits under the hood, too. Anybody know what powerplant this car is running?
That thing has got to be the ultimate street sleeper! Cops wouldn't even give this car a second look at a stoplight!

All that money to go fast and he doesn't have a line lock? Nice John Force burn out. The car is definitely moving.

Damn. That little thing is moooooving out. Couldn't quite get a 7 second pass out of it, though. I am sure that is not that far away, though.

their are stock 6 speed supras in the 7's that are street driven. those 2jz boys take pride in being fast and putting down some major numbers.
that car is slow lol... 8.4?
dont get me wrong but look at the boys in south Florida( i wont even touch the puterico boys) with conquests, and mirages, starlets with 4g63 motors making those passes on bad runs.

u sure it was a full 1320? their are tracks(even the hks top dog shootout thats 1,000ft) so it does make a diffrence. if its a world record pass it needs to be specific of a full 1/4 mile.
i dont follow to much skyline related drag racing unless its garage r.i.p the skyline guys who do the rb30 hybrid motors they are the big dog in the rb world.

I dont think he could go much faster without barz. The shit looks like it wants to take off now

proably not.^^^ but bars are a quick fix on that car. to short of a wheelbase and weight for me personally. the guys who run fb rx7,carolas,starlet,conquests are brave soles in my mind perfect for a stupid fast sleeper but not my cup of tea.
ive seen quite a few make low 8sec passes and staged 3 in flordia but man its a whole new world in my eyes. i wish the pics came out from that night

Scott Hoffman's awesome 2JZ Toyota Corolla runs back to back flat eights on 275 radials. Scott also qualified number one in a 10.5 slick tyre field.
still runs leaf srings and a toyota rear end, also it does it using 275/60-15 Drag Radials
ill keep digging. hope that helps.

So can you explain how you get a 9" tire on a 15" wide wheel? There is at least 8-9" of just lip on the back wheels. So how is that a 28x9? And wtf is Puterico?

the rundown from the gold rolla
Jamboree number 20 was run over the weekend and OKE020 was entered in the modified 10.5 class but running on 275 ET Street Radials. In the week beetween Nostalgias and Jamboree in an effort to stop some of the weight transfer we swapped the heavy duty pedders front springs for standard replacement king springs, the front ride height came down 2 inchs and chains were installed to only let the front wheels drop 2 inchs from ride height.
The engine was still in perfect health after the nostalgias, we did not even pull a plug or change the oil opting instead to actually polish the ol girl , for the first time in many years we were sitting ready 4 days before the event.
On the first qualifier i pretty much just left to hard on the transbrake, i had no idea how much i could put down but was obviously to much, wheelstand landings are far more harsh with this setup but the extra nolethane bump stop seemed to work ok. I let the car settle and ran it out the back for a 9.20 something at 167 just to make sure the tune was happy.
The next 2 qualifiers i figured i would just leave the line softly as normal but let the ams bring in maximum boost by 2.1 seconds instead of the 3.9 settings that we used at nostalgias. The first pass i left too soft with a 1.68 60' but the car stayed flat and level as the boost came on and ran 8.33 @ 175 mph. The last qualifier was a 7 second pass without a doubt, 1.39 60' but unfortunatetly headed towards the wall and i had to lift off a few times before running it through for a 8.40 @ 175. The 8.33 was enough to top qualify for the bracket, we were pretty happy about that given we were at a disadvantage to the rest of the field being on a Street Radial Tyre. There were however cars in the field capable of going quicker but breakages and traction issues seemed to be the order of the day.
We had a bit of a dream run through eliminations which is definately not how i would of liked to have seen it run but was just the luck of the draw. Round one being top qualifier i was given the bye run, ran the car down with another 1.6 60 for an 8.40 @ 175mph. Round 2 i was up against the blue r33 skyline from down south, it was an 8.30 car so i needed to step it up if i was to beat him. I was a little eager on the tree and red lit by .028, the car ran a 1.53 60 and went 8.177 at 176mph with the only change being higher launch rpm.
At this stage Matt lisle had gone 2 for 2 and the rest of the field was 1 for 2 so i knew i had to win my next round and run quick et for the round to make the final. The person i was to race was a no show so unfortunately i was to have another bye, i think this got a few noses out of joint but really how could it be any different? the rest of the field was paired up anyway. In my opinion i made an honest pass though ran a good light and went quickest for the round 8.09 @ 176mph. Obviously pretty bloody awesome to get that close to a 7 and we were stoked and excited for what might happen next.
Matt lisle won his 3rd round but unfortunately had a moment down the bottom of the track, matt was ok but the car was not going to run the final. I was told i would have a bye final and not to red light for the win. For the final solo pass i tried to put on a bit of a show to make up. Did a rather large burnout and staged, i did not change the setup from the run before instead i intended to up the launch rpm. The car left harder and i could not steer away from the centre line for 330', luckily it came down in time to steer back and i managed to keep it under power, the car was a little quicker to 60' 1.46 and quicker to half but lost a tenth in the top, i probably should of put the bottle warmer on it, i suspect low pressure resulted in slightly rich AFRs killing a bit of the power. Ran through for another 8.07 @ 176.95mph.
It was hardly a battle but it was still a win, quite weird that i won the final and lost the only race i had. I still feel though that i ran a decent light and low et each bye run that i had so the car did not get it easy.
We ended up winning trohpies for Top Burnout, Top Qualifier and Winner Mod 10.5, Trophy presentation was painful, once again i suck at speeches and this is something i am never going to be any good at so will never change. The car was awesome all weekend we never took a spanner to it, never even plugged a laptop in, just fuel / chute / n20 bottle. The car started first go every morning in very cold temps and drove under its own power to the staging lanes, every time the lined moved forwards and drove itself back to the pits every pass with zero issues.
Got to meet some pretty cool people over the weekend, overall if i was not so sick i'd still be high from it

ery basic car really, first thing its 2697lbs with me in it so its not really as light as you would think. All original steel, glass, paint etc. Basic moly cage, factory tubs moved in 100mm along with the leafs, RHS subframe connectors, basic 2 Link and large anti roll bar help the stock leafs (with an extra leaf and reversed ) and shocks (original from 1973 haha). DIfferential is from a toyota hilux and uses a 3.5 ratio and shortened resplined stock axles.
Engine is fairly mild, stock main caps, standard crank and oil pump, crower billet rods and je pistons, mildly ported head with stock inlet valves and 1mm oversize exhaust, has little hks 272 cams in it and runs a Mr Turbo Billet 88mm turbo + 100 shot. Transmission is a powerglide originally sourced from mike transmission in california.
Fuel is ROO16 which i think is equiv to your q16.
I actually managed to break the engine last weekend mucking around on pump fuel, the factory main caps cried enough, broke 3 in total. Now rebuilding for the next event coming up in 2 weeks.
Up to this point i have had the same engine in the car for over 2 years almost maintenance free , got to love the 2jz.
