Finally got me something else for myself. Its no show stopper but theres not a ding in the body. Inside is near perfect. And its different. Id love to put a ls motor in it, but Ive been reading up on it and it looks like it would be a major pain in the ass. It would also cost way to much. I only paid 500 for the thing. I would like to keep it somewhat cheap. Its a Oldsmobile bravada. Kinda cool bcause it AWD. The motors locked up. Thats why I got it cheap. I have a sbc 400. I think Im just going to put that in it. It really needs some wheels. Ive read corvette wheels fit them well. Just have to find some. Heres some pics.

Corvette wheels will fit but you will need 2-1/2" spacers up front. Not sure about the rear since it is AWD.
To do the AWD v8 swap will cost more than the 2wd for sure. Even the std 4wd v8 conversion is tricky. It can be done but at for high $
Nice find. I wish I can stumble across a clean first gen for $500.
Its only your money. Do it.

From what I have read they fit the AWD with out a problem. Front and rear. But I know you cant believe everything you read on the net.

Do you know of any good S-10 sites?

For me the only reason to do a LS motor would be for the FI. Thats the part that is going to cost a lot.

I do admit. I dont know crap about efi. What Im looking at is. The cost of buying a LS motor, whatever I would need to run it, the wiring and tunning.
against a motor I allready have with most of the parts I would need for it. I have heads, carb, distributor and the whole short block. I have seen a kit to put a LS motor in a 4x4 truck. It was just the basics. Headers and motor mounts and it was $800. I think the oil pan is going to be a big problem.

if you looked at v8s10.org than yes the pricing there is expensive. Check out Jags That run for the book on keeping awd

s10forum has a large v8 conversion section. Lots of good tech on there from guys that have done it. S10Racer.com has many knowledgeable folks too. More 1st gen SBC with a few LSx based vehicles. V8S10.org has information but do not purchase the parts there.
If there is anything I can help you with let me know. I'm 01XtremeLT1 on s10racer.com

Got some pics? Are they all the same size? I know a lot of the late model wheels are different front to back.

i think i would rebuild the V6, and put it in.
then put some of LSX stickers on it.
and lie about being fast.
it's often better to PLAN something...than to actually do it.
it's still to hot out to work on cars....
