Wow, that van was fubar'd. They need to cut the trees down and put up a cable median.

why? If you saw what me and Bad Bob saw on the way back from North Carolina one day, you'd agree that it's 6 in one hand and half a dozen in the other.

That stretch of 26 is dangerous as all hell.

I'm not saying it would prevent the dumbasses from being dumbasses, but there have been a ton of people run into those trees and get killed over blowouts, cut offs, ect. I hate that stretch of hwy.

It serves well for multiple purposes

I was stuck in that traffic yesterday. Those state troopers are retarded. When I got to the Summerville exit, I found that they were only letting people off the first exit (north towards Moncks Corner). So I downed my window and asked the trooper what to do if you want to go south to Summerville. He said I would have to make a U turn. I asked why would they do that? (they could have opened the second exit for "local traffic only") He said "because thats what we said", so I told him "well, thats stupid". As he was looking at me like he wanted to yank me out of my truck and beat me with his club, I drove off...

Those other accidents are 100% the fault of the sc state troopers. Im surprised there werent more accidents on 17A from all the people making U turns. If they had both exits open, the traffic probably wouldnt have backed up much at all.

Read about those yesterday around lunch. I was surprised no one died in the 2 semi-3 car accident as well, that looked pretty bad also.

I think it was still open after the first wreck. But the second wreck could well have been caused by the troopers not getting the traffic moving. I saw it on the way to hhp yesterday and the wreck was almost at the jedburg exit, why they closed off summerville and created a big clusterfuck bewilders me.

Trees probably have a higher fatality record but less collateral damage to other vehicles. You dont see to many vehicles bouncing off them spinning in traffic.

The semi's driving habits don't help either. I had a car carrier tailgating me at 75mph in the rain Saturday around 1am. I-26 from Jedburg to Columbia just irritates the hell off of me.

Back in Oct. I had a lady in front of me over correct and hit the cables backwards around 50mph. It wasn't bad for the amount of speed she had, but I know one thing, if it would have been trees, she might not have made it.

The cable system seems to work well. Surprisingly, DOT has maintained it well.
