I sold a lot of my stock stuff and minimal mods off to recoup some cost from my build. Congrats on buying a L.

Started tweaking the C16 tune. When we finally started getting a little aggressive the track went away for me so we packed it up. Definitely has more in it.

Good passes. I would have to get the LTD, cause the blue Mustang couldnt handle the old blue truck. I know what it takes to get the weight of the LTD rolling, I can only imagine the power you are making to get that heavy truck rolling. :bigthumb:

Nice 60' too.
Actually, Im pretty sure the 60' was the result of the torque he was making baised on how rich the A/F was down bottom, a rich a/f on our motors = a boatload of torque.
We could have braught up the trap speed by leaning it out up top, and he would have been well into the 100 mph range from the HP gain of a leaner mix, but with the temprature lastnite we were hesitant to add anything more than a couple degree's of timing.

Yeah the over all run didnt feel that much different but knocking almost a 1/10th off of the 60' feels way more violent. Looking forward to hearing about your first 6 sec pass. :bigthumb:

Almost every 6.90 Lightning usually runs ~ in the 10.80's in the 1/4.
30lbs of boooooost
Most run 20-25 lbs of boost on race tunes. Mine went 6.91 @ 102 on 18lbs with a 1.56 60'. Chris' 60' was much better, but mine had 3* more timing, hence the better trap speed. He still has something left in it.

Well I can't speak for that much weight but 3600lbs, I run 6.70's (throttle limited) in the 1/8th on motor, and high 10.30's to low 10.40's in the quarter. Oh and I have a slight brick effect, but those trucks are brick squared. Mine doesn't really start running due to the weight, til the 1/8th mile, after the 1/8th she starts rolling good. A truck that heavy is impressive to move like that, thats why I always like driving Mike's truck..:bigthumb:

Still messing with the tune. We have a lot more timing to add and a lot of fuel to pull out of it. This was my first time running C16 and I only got 3 or 4 passes in.

Well, I am moving forward constantly as well. But taking steps is the right approach. You definately have a lot of timing to add. I run 14* on my nitrous tune with more compression than you. You and Randy will get it down with a few more passes. These twinscrews make great power!

It picked up more than you think if you actually consider when he made the 7.005 pass it was winter, and if we would have run this setup then, that 6.88 would have most likely been a 6.7-6.6 in those temps.
It would have stretched its legs on that last pass if we could have got it to hook.
The temp's on the first couple runs had the PCM pulling timing about half track (140F+) on the first two. I made some adjustments to make sure that didn't happen on the last run.........

Then its time to drop the race weight. Im thinking front bogarts, kirkey seat and a roll pan should help some. Maybe Ill even take out the 2-300 pounds of stereo equipment.

Didn't say it couldn't run a 10.
I just said that since the "the race to the 6's" is over, you two can now see who gets a 10 first in the 1320'.

Yes. While running C16 it doesnt retain any of the octane benefits though. It does however still retain its cooling properties for the downstream intake temps similar to nitrous. I ran without it one pass and my downstream temp was around 200* which will cause the computer to pull timing. The next pass I turned it on and it dropped to around 140* which will not cause the computer to pull timing.

He shut it off on the 6.9 pass, shut it on for the 6.8 but the heat was already in the 160's
First run without it. The order (left to right) is Downstream (after IC), at Air filter
Start of 6.9 run
162 136
End of 6.9 run
198 124
Second Run Methanol on 6.8
Start
152 118
End
178 100

The start temp is the temp at stall, just after burnout while staging.

It pulled timing each pass, anything passed about 330' or 2nd gear it was pulling about 2.5-3* and gradually increasing as the temp climbed.
I have the logs if you want them. Thats why on that last pass I should have just moved the peak a little further out and put you out the 60 foot on a bit less power to help traction....I also locked it out from pulling timing too........... But hey I know what to do next time we have that problem.

Now you know why I was pushing you through the staging lanes.... To keep the motor shut off and keep the under hood temps down.
