So i figure after sneaking around for the last 2 months or so ide come clean. Plus i couldnt hold it in any longer. After being on the stock blower with the stock pulley and tune, it feels like a whole new car.
Specs:
Whipple 2.9l
80lb injectors
Fore triple pump hat- return style dual 8an feed 6 an return.
Fore rails
3.5 pulley reading 16/17 lbs of boost
Next up looking to go with a built 8.8 so i dont have to keep babying it and fearing scattering the irs on the road. Smaller pulleys lined up on a desk waiting for some more funds to play with. Anyone ever run a 50/50 meth kit? Im looking into this since i drive the car alot and cant afford to just throw race gas in the tank all the time. I figure the meth will be alot cheaper for the higher octane, and ive read good things about the newer kits and the saftey backups they have now for them.

Ill probably be re-visiting him in a few months with some other pulleys. He seemed like a pretty good guy and seemed to know what he was doing. Also didnt hear very many bad things about him, i expected a few as im sure every tuner get blamed for people blowing thier motors.

right under 620, accufab SB throttle body. No longtube or cams yet, i couldnt see pulling a perfectly good motor for either of those yet. Im happy with the powerplant, next up will be suspension.

definitly a driver mod. So far i have very little racing experience besides roll racing and i dont really count that. Hopefully in the coming months i can get some suspension and tires under it and turn up the boost and see if all the hype on the 2.9 is true. Like i said its still stock suspension so i havent been too rough on it since i do drive it almost daily. This is my first real performance car so im still learning along the way. I did all the work so far myself but when it comes down to suspension im lost, anyone got some sugestions. Keep in mind this isnt a drag car, but i would like to be able to drive it to the track and make some nice passes and drive it home.
Ive found a pretty good deal on a solid built 8.8 for a grand, any issues or something to change or look for?
specs: 02 Mustang rear
31 spline strange axles.
31 spline aburn pro.
All new seals and bearings.
3:55 gear.
Screw in 3 inch studs.
Welded axle tubes.
upper control arms
lower control arms
rear springs
Shocks
And it's sand blasted and painted black.
All of the parts used are aftermarket stuff im not sure what brands and 0 miles on them. The only thing not included is the girdle and i can find one cheap im sure. Ive looked around and it seemed like a good price?

Very nice upgrade! Don't go with meth, go E85 and crank that boost up and lay 750rwhp all day long safely. Theres a few stations here locally, no reason not to. As far the irs its plenty strong to handle the power you're making, I'd defintely get some stickier tires though to take advantage of all that power.

To run E-85 i would have to toss alot more money into the fuel setup which is nearly brand new. Would need a different hat that has a e85 coating and would need to upgrade injectors to low impedance and a driver for them also i believe. I probably wont run meth, im thinking ill just get a race tune and keep the tune i have now for 93 for daily driving. 21 and 25 psi pulleys are sitting here as soon as i get the time and cash. The 2.9 is so damn quiet its crazy, the stock eaton was even louder than it is.

would cost me triple to build the irs up to where i wanted. I figured around 700-1000 for bushings, 1600 for half shafts, and then more for springs ect.
Thats if i did all the labor myself. Im not selling the irs, so if i dont like the solid i can always go that route. The car isnt a luxury cruiser, ride quality on the street isnt a top priority for me.

They sell a e-85 version of the hat i have, it was only alittle more and i should have grabbed it instead. Im sure i could trade up for one, but ive heard horror storys about guys running the corn juice on the hats without the coating. Also are you sure i wouldnt need 160s with a low impedance driver? I have so much other junk to do first but i know ill eventually lean toward this route.

my gt makes low 400 rwhp and it is tough to stop wheel spin on the street, i can't imagine another 200 rwhp and i have solid upper and lowers with drag radials. beautiful ride keep up the good work :bigthumb::hail:

Upgraded half shafts are worthless. Bushings and sticky tires along with the proper size irs bolts are all you need. I have tons of track passes on my car with over 600 rwhp and over 700rwtq all on the 100% stock irs.

The hat you have is perfectly fine, the alcohol in E85 will not cause any corrosion. Where have you heard any horror stories?? Dozens and dozens of guys are running corn without any crazy coating. Those injectors are more than enough, especially if your tuner bumps the base rail pressure up some. Go to the distillery section of svtp if you need more reassurance, plenty of guys with a ton of experience with E85 that will put your mind at ease.

i went there earlier and i feel better about going that route. I know i have plenty left in the fuel setup so it was barely being tested during the last dyno run. Only crappy thing is i only know of 1 E-85 station and ill use half a tank just driving there and back. Anything in west ashley that anyone knows of? only one i know is next to show zone. Im thinking about heading up in 2 weeks or so and running the e85 and probably a 23 or 25lb pulley just to see what the things made of.

Good looking setup! Hell of a fuel system, from my research you should only need twin GT pumps and a BAP, any reason you decided to go for triple/80 lbs instead of 60's? Just a safe fuel ceiling?
Also, have you looked into the killer chiller mod instead of meth? I need to do more research on meth, idk how well it blows thru superchargers.
I'm planning to do the 2.9, twin GT pumps, BAP, Fore/Division X hat, 8 an line, 60's, and long tubes and shoot for 650 wheel :) I also read on SVTP that the stock half shafts can hold a lot of power as long as your easy on them, so no drag launches without using slicks or a soft sidewall tire. The stock half shafts just don't like it when you do a 4k clutch dump on Sticky Nitto's with no sidewall lol then the shock of the launch gets transmitted into the driveline and boom. lol but idk? I just have a pullied eaton so take that with a grain of salt lol.

I figured i was already dropping a ton of money into the supercharger, and 60s were the same price as 80s so i went bigger so i could have room to grow. Im only running 2 Walbro GSS342 Fuel Pumps with room for a 3rd but i doubt ill ever need it. I run a boost a pump also turned on the lowest setting just to help balance out the power going to the pumps. The pumps/lines/rails/hat were all part of a kit with everything needed to make 850+ hp so i jumped on it. Even though its not cheap, fuels not the place to skimp.

was from lethal, i think i snagged the last complete set they had before FORE went bottom up. They have the new stuff coming out, or already out thats the exact same though.
