Im assuming it was rods you can see a couple of holes in the block on the third pic. Can anything else do that?

Ya, anything metal going through a running cyl could bust a hole in a cast block, a broke piston could do it.
I just wanted to know if he knew the origin of the failure, but if an end cap broke on a rod, most likely thats what started it.
Like with Bill's block and the hydro lock, thats the origin.
