That's weird that you weren't getting any more power from turning up the boost, that turbo is just starting to wake up at 22.
|
The turbine wheel is the problem. I'd be willing to bet I have over 3 to 1 exhaust to boost pressure. Maybe 3.5

Run the 1.10 for now, then when the 5.3 goes in swap to the 1.25 and sell the 1.10 you will probably be out 150.00 but there is no telling how long the 4.8 is going to last it could hang in there for another few years.
Next question is what stall speed? Does that 80 have a break? |
After talking with Lebbet over at BoostLab this morning, I decided to give that BL475R a try. Should be shipped Friday and went with the 1.10 A/R. They have it in stock but I was lazy and want the shinny polished one, because well I like shinny things.
I can stall any where from 3000-3600 on the step, but my rated stall speed is 2800-3000. Truck seems to leave well around the 3300 and using the 80's trans-brake. |
Give me a ring this weekend. Im off and will need a break from porting my intake and waiting on parts as well!
|
Think you will be happy with it. What was the damage on that?
|
Dat sumbitch gonna move with the new turbo. Will it still take the n20 to spool it as well?
|
It shouldn't need it to spool. But it will help it 60ft.

They gave me a small military discount, but with addition of the polish job damage came in around 1700. The current magnum is showing some wear though with some in and out play and my warranty claim was accepted. So ill be sending it in and selling it once it's back. It was 1050 new, so I hope to snag 700 or so for it. That will help some, but mainly the power adder for the next block is taken care of and I have a better shot at 9's with the 4.8L.
Also happy to get my current 3" DP / 2.5" in one spot removed to for that 4". This rig should get it now. Just need a 6.4x and 108ish to meet my 9 second goal. Quote:

Ok, trying to piece together a new 5.5" aluminum intake. Seems simple, but this size is just silly looking and very hard to find. Any one know a place to snag one or two 90" 5.5 aluminum. Even the filter selection is pretty small.

Check out www.theload.com
They are primarily a semi truck supplier but they have good deals on large diameter pipe mandrels and there located in GA so shipping is fast and cheap. If you dont want to start a account with them they can create a private auction on ebay for what you need they also have a ebay store. I just bought my 4" mandrels from them and plan to rework my down pipe 4" to a cutout and then a transition to 3" so it will go all the way out the back for the street. Wish I could run 4 all the way out buy I don't have a turbo K member so that's not happening. Also are you sure its 5.5" inlet my S400 has a 5" and here is a the link to the filter I bought. 19.99 and free shipping you cant beat it, and if you think it will restrict you pull it off on the track and let her eat. http://www.ebay.com/itm/390452627145...84.m1439.l2649 I also built a boost leak test rig for a 5" inlet so if it is that size you can borrow mine and test the system once its done to save yourself 25 bucks. Cheapest place to find the Borgwarner v band is at www.racepartsolutions.com |
It has the race cover, so it's 5.5" inlet, 3" slip on outlet.
