If I'm going to do a callout tho it will be Time Trial rules so we have transponders and real lap-times.

Well I'm down. The only issue will be money right now..I'm dirt broke, lol. Plus I need tires, brakes, and road courses aren't cheap (I volunteered with NASA at events to get worker credits). Definitely not afraid of the franken-goat though. ;)

We are going to need a thread posted in the Budget Grudge Racer section to make it official.

And we are sooooo close. Almost can reaacchh.

I'll be at CMP Dec 8th. I'll leave the slicks at home but I want free rein for weight reduction; they will have transponders for rent.

why do the Hawks/Ceramics NOT work well on the track?

just wondering.

i got a pair on my tahoe, it's like a portable dust storm in there.

They are low heat tolerant and will wear down quickly. When a pad overheats they lose braking friction and will stop even worse. They are also usually meant to bring a normal car down from a speed of like 70mph down to zero maybe 2-3 times on a highway setting before failing. After that and they don't do as well. On a road course you can see constant slow down speeds from as high as 120mph or so down to 40mph or so...again and again and again. That's NOT what ceramic/street pads were intended or built for. That's why it's recommended that you get more aggressive track pads that can withstand the temperatures and constant abuse.

Basically what birdman said.

Cliffnotes. They work great cold; when they get hot they disappear into dust instantly.

A race pad will be shit while cold; like driving with no brakes; but when they get hot they bite like nothing else,

I'd guess different gap. They are way different then the bolt pattern on the OEM PBR caliper.
