Merkur, the European 80's ford pinto.

I had to settle for a base model vette cause no Merkurs were for sale.

I Like the Conquest/Starion, the interesting thing is, the engines were forklift engines, believe it or not. Its cool how they converted it to a turbo gas engine though.

I used to have a 79 Buick Regal turbo, with a GN engine in it. (engine swap) Kept frying ECUs. I drove it a few times, and rebuilt the engine in high school, in auto tech class. Nothing ever came about on that.

And the SVO has the exact same engine as the Merkur, just a different, more aggressive PE ECU, which I would like to have. I am running an upgraded LA3 in mine now, out of a Turbo Coupe.

Was in Orlando last January at a dyno in a muffler shop while blacksnow's 8th gen civic was bein tuned. The owner of the shop had a starion with a viper motor in it. It was being finished up while we were there. Wonder if he ever got it going. Crazy sight swing all that motor in that little car.

Whatever happened to that dingleberry? Challenged everybody and then rolled out.

I had a few RX-7s. Still wouldn't mind having an IMSA wide body 1st gen with a turbo'd 13B for a track car.

The 97 Probe GT wasn't a slouch and consumed large amounts of gas! My RX7 was a fun little car as well.

The great thing about 80's turbo cars is that with most of them, you could put a boost controller on them, and bump the boost another 10 lbs, and still be good on stock ECU. The First upgrade for CHEAP HP. One of my old friend had an older Probe GT Turbo that blew the doors off of a Mustang GT with just boosting a little more.

I bet that mustang gt owner went and traded it in for a Probe GT after that.
