They only thing I would be worried about is the transmission. I don't know much about the auto gto's but not many stock trannys last long at 500rwhp.

Yeah the drivetrain worries me. But I don't plan on keeping it...would sell it. Who knows, he was also looking at a cobra. (Inb4douchewadsaysthatsabetterdeal)

A GTO to a cobra? That's quite the downgrade. :hide:

GTO suspension and drive train should worry you. I have well over 10k invested suspention/driveline just to support stock power levels.

jmd 04-05-2013 09:06 PM

with an auto it should be fine. the trans will need to be upgraded eventually.

BIRDMAN 04-05-2013 09:53 PM

Welp he apparently wanted a cobra anyways..so he went with that. No worries here!

BigdaddyDupree 04-05-2013 11:19 PM

Maybe next time it will work out. That's the second gto offered in trade right?

Matts94Z28 04-05-2013 11:25 PM

GTO's suck anyway.

More like the fifth at least. Second supercharged one though. I'm not worried...I've had probably 40 or so (reasonable) trade offers over the past 6 months...most were dedicated drag cars or purpose built and not a good DD car. The others were either just not really worth a straight up trade or were too boring.

To be honest I love my car, black gas cap and all. It does everything I want...and in my opinion is the best bang for the buck. But I also really want to pay off my debts and breathe easier.

Agreed lol. I was only considering it to flip it. I don't care for one. Or a Monaro for that matter.

Monaro>zo6>base model vette. I'm telling you. Ax me how I know bo.

Ive got a good driveshaft, strut bearings and radius rod bushings in the front, pedders springs/shocks/diff mount in the back. No where near enough stuff to make a perspective buyer worry IMO.

It stays on the jackstands..hence the 4 fuel ups. Probably a typical leak somewhere.

Daily car is the vette, lt1 is the racecar lol. Lt1 is far too nice to be driven daily!

I wish someone would offer a tinted Merkerr for trade...but then again I probably wouldn't be able to afford the cash on top. :( I just wanna get into the 8s!
