I knew some Car-bi-nator guys would be along to help :)

One day I am going to convert, actually already started, but those $200.00 each Moran injectors is a hard pill to swallow..:bigthumb:

White00gt 05-14-2011 12:04 PM

Yes but it is the last injector you will have to swallow :).. adjustable FTW just got me some 220's.. and man the spray pattern is B-E-A- utiful, compaired to the 160 bosh/ford CNg injectors I was running.. and the flow rate isn't all fubared around 1-3ms, ahh they are nice.

How much for the 160's if they are still good?

HitsonRacing 05-14-2011 09:16 PM

I am running 7 lbs of fuel pressure. I have a oil filled fuel pressure gauge mounted at the outlet of the regulator.
I am going to change the carb to a 750 vac secondary and see how it runs.
It use to run fine with the 750 vac secondary on it before.

Electric fuel pump? If so, does it have a return to the tank?

7lbs could be a little high. Try 6 and run it. If that doesn't work try 5 lbs. I wouldn't go any lower than 5lbs though. Anywhere in between thouse #'s will work also to fine tune it.

Are u driving it back to the pits and checking the plugs? If so, of course they are going to be black. If u want to read your plugs you need to shut it off as soon as you go through the traps and tow it back.

BigdaddyDupree 05-15-2011 10:38 AM

Kill it at the eighth let it coast pull a plug swap a new one with it. Drive it to the trailer. Read the plug. Adjust.

If you are going to do it this way, I would pull atleast 2 plugs. One from the front and one from the back.

Yeah, the only way to tune off a set of plugs is to have a fresh set of plugs and shut it off as soon as you go through the traps. Otherwise, you are trying to tune for WOT off a set of plugs that are showing you your idle and part throttle.

That's why i have a 4wheeler at the track. when we make changes up or down in jet size she gets towed back and plugs read. :cheers
