I wouldn't throw parts at it. Verify other things first. Does the radio come on? Are you getting signal to the fuse panel. On gm it would be any pink wire. I do not know on the honda. I would verify you are getting signal to places it is needed before you replace something. That is how you become broke.

i dont have a radio right now lol. all dash lights come on. fresh battery. when i test the wire that goes to the ign switch on the starter i dont get anything
tried a new ignition switch and it didnt fix it lol
Check all fuses to make sure their good and in the correct locations.

You need to make sure you have power going to and from the ignition switch. And make sure that the power is going to the fuse box when ignition key is turned. Make sure neutral safety switch is good. I believe your problem is going to be in the wiring or a fuse/relay
yeahh im not very good with electrical things so im not to sure how to test it. i've done what i know and stuff but thats pretty limited lol. def some kind of wiring problem
ok i think i have something to go off of finally. looked at wiring diagrams and what not to see where all the ignition switch runs through. checked the fuses it would go through and all came up good. long story short back when i did the 5spd swap in the car i had to cut a wire on the starter relay. the wire i had to splice into for the clutch pedal pulled out of the plug so i cut the wires off the plug and added connectors on the wires to plug them individually into the relay. it seems like the clutch pedal isn't flipping the switch so to say so to bypass it im gonna ground it and see what happens. grounding it the clutch pedal doesn't have to be pushed down for the car to start
sounds like the little plug fell out the clutch pedal assembly....
the clutch safety switch sends the ground signal to the starter solenoid, not power... you should have 12v at the starters large wire, at the alternator large wire and at the underhood fuse box. the ignition switch feeds the fuse panel, the fuse panel feeds the alternator and starter.... your transmission ground strap is very important. you are grounding through fresh clear coat and paint on the chassis and engine enamel on the transmission. |
well i grounded the neutral safety switch and the car cranks when i turn the key now. now to look for why its not starting loll
got it to start lol
And it was?

Sorry, couldn't leave that one. |
why the car wasn't cranking with the key was from the neutral safety switch. i grounded it and the car cranked right up. i forgot to ground the main relay so my fuel pump primes and the cel goes away. when i ground both of them the car started right up. only let it run for a few seconds b/c i dont have a couple things. sounded slightly rough. hopefully its from an open o2 hole and the brake booster vacuum line not being hooked up
