What are the chances my current x pipe could be hacked up and stepped up to 3" at the end meeting the headers. Im going to have to swap the current x out anyways, but making it work might be able to save me $400.

Like I said in my previous post, Robert can do anything you want downstream of the headers. If you want another X-pipe, he can probably make it. You should see the work he did on the 3.5" pipe and the mufflers still reside in the stock location on my 89 mustang. If you want to keep your 2.5" X-pipe, he can adapt to that as well. I wouldn't recommend choking your motor down with that small of a pipe. I will be at Dorchester this Sunday if you want to see his work.

Only reason i need to keep the 2.5 stepped up to 3" is because i still use a full exhaust. Ive thought about doing it 2 ways. Either having some electric cut outs before it gets to 2.5" for when im at the track. Or a a full 3" system that would have to be made. Leaning toward the cut outs right now just because i drive the car almost every day and a full 3" system may be ungodly loud, just adding the headers will probably not be quiet already.
