Inside the United States Special Operations community, an operator is a Delta Force member who has completed selection and has graduated OTC (Operators Training Course). Operator was first used by Delta Force to distinguish between operational and non-operational personnel assigned to the unit.[21] Other special operations forces use specific names for their jobs (Army Rangers, Navy SEALs, Air Force Pararescuemen); operator is the specific term for Delta's operational personnel. However, since the early 2000s other special operations forces have adopted the term.

SEALs may have unofficially referred to themselves as operators since the Vietnam War. Author and Navy SEAL Gene Wentz makes many references to fellow SEALs as operators in his 1992 book titled "Men In Green Faces," which is about the SEALs in Vietnam.[25]

Pretty much anyone in Special Operations considers themselves an "operator" these days.

As does half the new "tacticool" gun owners nowadays. Get a rifle with an EoTech, a chest rig, and some desert tan cargo pants and you're an operator.

What kind of swaps are most common with these?

everything gm ever made basically lol. V8Archie.com sells kits to swap smallblocks into them. my favorite swaps were 3.8SC, 3.4TDC and Quad4 H.O.

There was a couple of brothers up in maryland or something that had 3.8SC swapped cars. one went by Lil'Devil and the other was SoulCrusher. IIRC one of them finally ended up in the 11's

This was in 2004 or so. IIRC a GT would run something like 15.3@87mph or something if you had a manual... the automatics like i had were good for a 15.9 or 16.0 usually lol. I could get mine spinning on sand and as soon as the 215 dunlop sport a2's hit asphalt it'd dead hook and bog lol
