Yeah i asked about that this morning..They have tapered the dirt around the building about 3ft out..They said even if there was no dirt all the way around the edge, that the slab is connected to the bottom board with bolts that are in the concrete all the way around..So basicly they put 4" bolts on the bottom board all the way around on the inside of the building before the pour started...But it looks good and the ground has runoff away from the building and everything looks as it should...

Well, they are done and gone. They cleaned up real nice and i had another load of fill dirt brought and they spread it out real nice across the front..

The dirt is only going to help so much. If there isn't a turndown on it, it's only a matter of time before the rain gets ahold of it.
Looks good! |

Looking at your pictures, the washout will happen the next time it rains. The grade on the dirt will not help. Do yourself a favor and get some sod or gravel down around the base of the building as soon as you can. The building may be connected to the slab, but the dirt under the slab will not be there long if you don't do something soon. Looks great though, I'd like to have a shop like that myself! |
I will prob go get a couple pallets of sod if you think that will help?? But i looked at it very well and dug down to look how it contacts the pad.. The bottom band board id 2" in the dirt and then the concrete starts at the 2" mark... But yeah, the sod is no problem...I'm really happy with this companys work and the owners name is Joe Barden and his number is 803-682-4223..His prices and quality of materials beat anyone else hands down.I shopped for this building for a solid year..It ended up bein $12 a sq ft...My ben -pak drive on will be here soon and until then i will be doing the electrical inside..And thanks for the good coments,im really happy with this and have waited my whole adult life to finally have the things i want!!!!!!

Looks great! I wish I could do one of those for my garage, but I'm pretty sure the hoa would never approve it.
Definitely get some sod around it, even though it sounds like the bottom board is acting as a turn down. |
Hella nice ashley. Definently jelly bud.

Well,we worked the dirt out around the edge of the slab. Went and rented a wacker packer and got that clay pushed in there real good. It looks loose still but thats just what we put back on top to level it off.. Gonna go to get a couple pallets of sod on monday to finish it off...
