Not understanding what you mean. I'm not telling anyone not to log if they want to. I'm not telling anyone not to rely on email tuning either. I gave my opinion on both and reasons to back up MY opinion. Either of them have the capability to log so it doesn't matter either way.

No need to datalog to know if your afr is in a safe range which is all email tuning is useful for IN MY OPINION.

i thought the NTK/NGK wideband was the billy badass one to have. i know the sensor is like twice as expensive as an UEGO sensor. I had a AEM Guage-Type UEGO on my mustang.

I wouldn't rely on an email tune simply because I've had a bad experience with em. I had a Bama tune on my Cobra and had it Dyno tuned 3 mo. later. It was so off and pulling so much timing the tuner was surprised I didn't lose the motor. Granted I only put on about 1K miles in that period but still. It was bad. And, I picked up about 18 whp on the Dyno from how it came in

LOL at tags. I have an AEM UEGO wideband in my car and have seen it be more accurate than at least one shops wideband. Personally I think email tunes are not the way to go if you have another option that is as good. However, I don't really agree you can know your AFR is where it should be without having a wideband in the vehicle.

I just saw them LOL! Anyways, just ordered the AEM and a single pod pillar gauge. Should be here Friday!

Unfortunately I don't have a local option for tuning my car. But the guy who is doing my e-mail tune is top notch and he tweaks it continually until the car is where it needs to be, it's not just a canned tune. Besides, the only difference is the guy isn't sitting in the car with you, he's still looking at all the same info as if he were there in the flesh.

I agree here... I use a guy well known in the 3rd gen WRX world but he's west coast I could have flown him out for my dime and paid him the same as I did for email tune. He isn't giving the car everything she's got but it's a safe tune and I make decent power. You should always log your afr to make sure you're not too lean. But email tunes vs dyno tune vs street tune the only real win is a awesome tuner who knows what he's doing and how it gets done has no bearing on how the car will run.

You have no other option then that's your only choice and i can understand that, and you're lucky to have a tuner willing to go through your tune like that. He might be seeing the logs you're sending him but can he see the track or dyno results and make changes then and there? Can he go for a ride to diagnose a problem? Its you're only option and that's fine but understand if you had the option to get it done in person you'd be better off. And I'm still talking in general but how about tuning a large crammed car via email and expecting it to drive well every time.

And I'll own up to my tag about me and s14 being sisters.... Shouldn't talk about him like that.

Ok guys, my wideband came in (AEM) do I leave it on P0 and just wire it in and go? I'm going to get the bung tapped and welded in today. Can I just install the 02, get switched 12v and ground and go?

did it not come with instructions?

all you need is power and ground like you said when just using the gauge.

READ the instructions though.
