Yes but why force the guys running radials and DOT approved tires to go out and borrow/buy a set when they drive the pair they have on the street every day. If its street legal... then it should be allowed on a street car race.

Force? People GIVE away treaded street tires. They arent that hard to come across. Youre just looking for excuses.

If the only rule is regular street tires and drive in, I might be able to do that. On y2k vette wheels even. As long as track is prepped decent I believe I can make it down it. 500 would be nice.

@ Mark, as long as you drive it thru the gates and it has tags and is a daily driver no problem. We want to keep it strictly street cars to make it fair for the imports.

easy. Real street tires. No radials or slicks, doesnt matter if they are dot approved or not. Show up with real treaded street tires, something hard enough you can get 30k miles out of them. (id go 295 at the biggest).

Thats the only stip you need. If zac, robert, and carl can make it down the track on a set of those then they are in.

there you go that will fix it right there..she hit the nail on the head..

Im guessing because its easier to switch to race fuel if you have a cell and Im sure they intend for this to be a pump gas only race.

jmd 10-05-2011 10:36 AM

what don't all the grudge racers on the site understand about a street car racing event? :hide:

Blue Skunk 10-05-2011 10:36 AM

Do Nitto NT05 tires (not NT05R's) qualify as a "street tire"? They arent specified as a drag radial by Nitto. Just asking.

Because race car

Blue Skunk 10-05-2011 11:20 AM

^^^ True, but they are a lot better than the Goodyear F1 Supercar Tires and a little more safe in a rain storm at 70mph than any of the "drag radials".
