This really is simple.

All you need is a true street tire, insurance and to drive it in the gate. Some of the guys in the upstate did this a while back and it looked like a blast. I believe someone went 7.1x's.

Some of the rules you guys are making are stupid. Hell, it would DQ my slow ass because my A/C is not charged (belt is on), my door speakers don't work (radio does) and my Sumitomo's are 315's.

Keep it simple and stop bitching.

I just said 295 as an example. If your 315's are treaded real street tires, which I know sumitomos are then you should run.

In the end, it will be the same old weekend with the fast guys barely meeting the req and pretending they have a street car. Theres races for those guys every weekend but it seems when a event for the slow guys comes along they still want to jump in. I already know my turd is slow, but it is a factory street car with everything on it. Thats what this event should be about... Factory imports with bolt ons, vs Factory domestic cars with bolt ons. The arguement will go on for the end of time about what makes a car a race car vs a street car so theres no use argueing this...

The fuel cell thing doesn't matter if true street tires are required.

People with fast cars who are thinking about running this with street tires is stupid. Taking a chance of wrecking your car for $500. Let the low 7's to high 8's have there fun and make some money while doing it.

I agree with you for the most part except the roll cage thing. I dont have one but i definitly dont blame even street cars for having extra safety equiptment. I dont know many daily driven street cars that use a fuel cell... last i looked they still put gas filler necks on cars so you can stop at the pump as you drive.

Hi I'm Silver fox and my car is a turtle and I drive it to the track. Usually a slow race car is considered a street car. I might run this race if my car fits in. I see both sides. I never been fast and probably never will. Fast = $$$. I don't have $$$ to go fast. Dorchester will hardly hook with a good tire. I don't think they will let a real fast car run on a regular street tire. Somebody get hurt then lawyers and then only place to run is the street. You see where this is going. I give props to the track in doing this and giving back to the small racers. It is the tracks money and race let them make the rules.

I was joking about the roll cage. When we are at the track with Marcus's car and we say its a street car on pump gas they are like"that aint no damn street car look at the promod cage". I think a cage is a good idea to have for safety and it doesn't make your car faster....

I was actually going to run my cutlass without one but after seeing a couple bad wrecks lately I think I'm goin to atleast put a six point in it.
