kyle wtf did you do?

guy i work with bought one 2 weeks ago. back seat has pretty good room, i like the 3 way component speakers up front and the touchscreen radio, and i think it looks pretty good for a little car. i think he said he was getting a little over 30mpg with it so far. its an auto.
i dont think i could give up a g8 for one though?

GreebeanZ28 05-29-2014 07:39 PM

When speaking gas mileage and Kyle, general rule of thumb is to subtract 33% from the normal average. And that cool radio? Ask everybody whos had to work one lol.

BIRDMAN 05-29-2014 08:28 PM

Back seat is non-existent. i think there is 1" between the back of my seat and the bottom of the back seats. i have the backs folded down anyways.

including the test drive and romping on it a few times it was showing 29.5mpg when i pulled into work this morning. yesterday and today were both stop and go traffic so its getting exactly what i expected it to. the G8 was showing 17.6 driven the same way. it got up to an astounding 20.5 with the cruise set at the speed limit on the way to trade it in. radio works fine... plays pandora thru bluetooth just fine... navigation works fine... other than it not having a sub it sounds pretty decent once you set it up. if you cant set this radio up you probably are afraid of smartphones and that dag blasted internets those kids are using nowadays.

Right now i'm looking to sell all of the G8 parts i have laying around and buying a set of 17x8.25 XXR 527s and put 245/40R17 Pilot Super Sports on them, Driveway labs type1 rear diffuser and possibly the FT86SpeedFactory front splitter. next decision is how do i want to lower it. RCE or Eibach springs are the current contenders and I have yet to look into the coilovers as there are probably 60 different sets available for this car. everything from megan racing for 600 bucks up to 11k for a set of penskes.

98Camarod 05-30-2014 08:45 AM

I know one problem my buddy has is that he's unable to get it into gear if the temps are below 40ish. He's taken it in and left it and "they can't duplicate the problem." His windows wouldn't go all the way up a couple of times, and one time it rained. That lead to the seat not moving.

# buys brand new depreciating asset and future modifications to justify poor mpg with old car.

98Camarod 05-30-2014 10:01 AM

sit in stop and go traffic for 30 minutes to go 7 miles every day and report back with camaro milage... it would show 26-27 if i could cruise anywhere long enough on the highway but i never drive more than 5 miles on the highway at a time.

So the 29 youre getting now on the trip thingy (and not actually calculated) is just stop and go and doesnt include freeway or highway driving on the way back from the dealership?

crumbie 05-30-2014 11:21 AM

my 6 cylinder jeep gets 19.0 mpg in the summer and 18.8 mpg during school. it averaged 15.5 mpg when April drove it LOL!

RoadconeTuning 05-30-2014 11:22 AM
