New Small Block Ford class!!!

All new Heads-Up Small Block Ford class will debut in March of 2012. Rules are as follows; Must have a small block motor, must be a Ford make of car, any engine combination, No tire bigger than a 28, any type suspension, Single stage of nitrous. As of right now these are the basic rules. If they need to be tweaked a little we will base it on the majority of feedback we get. Heads-Up, pairing by drawing names out of a hat, no qualifying, all run. NO ENTRY FEE! We are trying to establish a class for some of the cars that are not as fast as some of the guys that compete in the all Ford shootout. We anticpate the all Ford Shootout will have faster cars enter next year as we increase the purse payout. Any feedback on this new class and it's rules will be greatly appreciated! Hope this will accommodate many of you.

Chillerman 12-17-2011 06:24 PM

Sounds good! We will give it a try next year.

Smith Bros. Racing 12-17-2011 06:34 PM

Will the tree be a pro tree or a regular tree? Will the cars have to use footbrake or can they you use transbrake?

LDELEE 12-17-2011 07:24 PM

Pro-Tree, trans brake or footbrake (both or allowed).

WWhittle 12-17-2011 09:38 PM

Hell yeah.

BAD BOB 12-17-2011 10:09 PM

im sure i wont have a chance against WES 100k car but you said single stage nitrous, will turbos be able to run also?

Hell if that's what you think it's worth you can have it for half price! When you picking it up?

BAD BOB 12-17-2011 10:24 PM

nah too many projects right now. maybe next year!

LDELEE 12-17-2011 10:48 PM

Yes, turbo's are allowed. Hopefully, the small block, single stage nitrous rule will be the limiting factor that will give the small guys a chance to race, have fun and win. Eventhough, a BIGG small block won the last shootout.

WTFWSAT 12-17-2011 10:56 PM

hmm...i may need to drop the radials and get some slicks so i can be more competitive next year.

spdracr0 12-18-2011 12:02 AM

ummmm...those are still 4 sec rules...

Also says

LXtasy 12-18-2011 11:13 AM

but it does say any engine combination and just a small block motor. and Any ford make of car. So in theory bad bobs car will fit.

Harry 12-18-2011 11:21 AM

I give. Lenny, Please Clarify. Your description isn't clear enough.

WTFWSAT 12-18-2011 11:49 AM

I read it as any chevy/ford/mopar/lexus small block config as long as its a Ford vehicle.

yota 12-18-2011 12:01 PM

yeah, i dont see what is so confusing. any ford bodied vehicle, with any small block engine (regardless of make), any suspension, and max of one stage of nitrous... throw a 418 lsx with twin 67's with a glide in a fox body and go chop heads :bigthumb:

NesbittRacing1 12-18-2011 12:20 PM

im liking the way this class sounds! ill be there

WWhittle 12-18-2011 12:30 PM

This class is not going to accomplish what you are trying to accomplish. By your rules, Chris Tuten can run the class. The single stage rule is only goin to hurt the slower guys anyway. I have never made a full pass at Dorchester on more than one system- I would only run one anyway and so are the other fast nitrous cars. Just some food for thought.

If you want a slower class, do a radial class, 275 max size- the tire will be very limiting at Dorchester.

spdracr0 12-18-2011 12:30 PM

I figured Wes would like that with his 50k race car....(just seeing if he will offer me a 1/2 off hehe).....Looks like it could be good though, but Tuten still qualifies and as fast as the red rocket is, I do no think it will run with the green goblin or scarface.....I do not have any good answers, I think a way to make it interesting would be to bring out the scales and every winner gets the purse and 100 lbs...eventually everyone may be close to running...I am by no means complaining, the entry is free, I do like the no qualifying, straight off the trailer,

spdracr0 12-18-2011 12:38 PM

by those rules a tube car can run too, I think there is a happy medium somewhere, I just do not know where it is....a couple of good racers could sit down and be impartial and nail down a good set of rules..

WTFWSAT 12-18-2011 12:39 PM

I think del had the only BB car but i could be wrong on that. Either way ill still run its anybodys race.

You might be suprised! The last time the red rocket and the green goblin were in this race together, I was the faster car all night and made the fastest pass of anyone. The track and Tuten can confirm that- so you never know! I'm showin up either way!

A 275 max radial would even up pretty much anyone within reason. And open it up to any make of car.

WWhittle 12-18-2011 12:46 PM

Really, with free entry there shouldn't be any reason for someone NOT to race. It's fun and you might get lucky!

WTFWSAT 12-18-2011 12:51 PM

A 275 class would be great but I dont think there would be a big enough field for 275's. Myself and badbob are the only 2 i can think of over the last few times ive been out.

Honestly...I do not doubt that. I give your car all of the respect in the world still doesnt mean I cannot give you hell along the way..and everyone come to race, anything can happen, that is why we race...

I agree- free entry, close to the house, I'm coming to have fun. If I win, great- if I get my ass kicked that's ok too.

Absolutely, I think we get spoiled very quickly in this area. We all live so close to somewhere to race...

Chillerman 12-18-2011 09:28 PM

If you make it a 275 class, were out. Not going to buy 275's just to run this race. My drag radials are 295's. I usually run a 28.0 10.5 slick @ dorchester anyways. You could still use a 10.5W if you want. Not whining, just my 2 cents worth.

KRYPTONITE 12-19-2011 09:15 AM

Yall lucky They wont let me Enter the CUDA... I would Bye Run All of yall :poke::hide:

KRYPTONITE 12-19-2011 09:17 AM

Wes You might have just cut your legs off for yourself.... 275.. really can your car work on 275's

With a digital 7 box and a notebook, Chris could get down Dorchester pretty fast on 275 radials.

I doubt it, we usually have 1.2x-1.2x on 275's with our nitrous cars, know a few other nitrous small blocks in the .1x-.1x range on 275's.

outlawts 12-19-2011 07:40 PM

if you go 275 the turbo car has the advantage
