Bowman charging more than on flyer for admission

Can someone please tell me why the flyer says that it was 20 dollar spectator admission, but we were charged 30 dollars and when we asked they refused to give our money back, we drove 2 1/2 hours to the track but will never be back!!!!

Mike 07-08-2012 01:10 AM

I haven't ever had a problem with gate admissions there, but I've never been when they had a promoted event.

WTFWSAT 07-08-2012 01:14 AM

Thats how those promotors work. Happens just about every time, there was an event last year that was 20 on the flyer but at the gate it was 30 then after 9 or 10 it jumped up to 40. Always take a flyer when going to an event like that.

If bowman owners put on the show its the same price all day.

ShawnBoyMoody 07-08-2012 01:41 AM

Seen it before....

Matts94Z28 07-08-2012 01:57 AM

Not the first time! I was on the way out to one of streetkings races last year until I got a call saying it was $40/person.

Retarded.

CHEVYMAN434 07-08-2012 06:18 AM

Yep,they got me too.Have never been back since

LXtasy 07-08-2012 07:53 AM

Did you park on pit side or spectator side? They usually will charge more to park on pit side if you are not racing.

Derek 07-08-2012 08:51 AM

Yup 30 ahead is what they got me for.

CHEVYMAN434 07-08-2012 10:10 AM

No,i dont remember exactly which event, but they had a couple dudes and a lady at the gate.I didnt know how much it was to get in i was just goin to hang out with shawn. But that lady looked me right in the face and told me 30 a head for five people in my truck, and 2 of them were my kids..We got over to where our people was and i asked them about how much it costed to get in and shawn laughed at me and said"boy, they sure got you, they only charged us 15 a head and we had a car. So we vowed to never go back. But then Curtis was having a event, camaro shoot out or somethin, and i really wanted to see some f body racing so i went, paid 20 a head and only seen 2 races the whole night..SUCKED BALLS!!!! So thats why i dont like bowman dragway...And its too short and narrow.....lol...I remember the event now too CANDYMAN...pfttttttt

LXtasy 07-08-2012 10:23 AM

Candymans events are famous for that.

Harry 07-08-2012 11:47 AM

x2.

That's crazy. Probably why I haven't bothered to go to any of those events ... was going to go to one once and heard it was up to around $40/person when it was supposed to be something like $20-25.

Bradleyrj 07-09-2012 02:27 PM

Why in the hell would anyone pay 20+ dollars to get in and watch? That makes no sense to me.

That's what I was thinking, I honestly can't think of an event I would pay that much for. Except for maybe SMR vs. WBR lol.

I'm talking about the 4 eyed freak running the green car with you driving, but I think we all know that's never going to happen.

I am. I was just letting him know that he can spend his $20+ on something else since he missed the race of the century.

ShawnBoyMoody 07-09-2012 02:56 PM

It was pretty epic. You forgot to arm the nitrous and I blew the tires off lol

I saw it happen.......That is all.

AverageJoe 07-09-2012 08:19 PM

Even with a promoted event, track management should keep an eye on admission, etc

Yep.

04ctd 07-10-2012 04:04 PM

so, who runs the gate? bowman staff or the promoter's staff?

so, Bowman rents out the facility, and the promoter's pay XX for the whole day, and the promoter's people work the gate and set ad hoc prices, as the day wears on, they get more greedy?

i can see that happening, but it still looks bad for the facility.

i only go to HHP days, so what do i know?

When they act like thieves, treat them accordingly. Hit them in the wallet by not supporting them.
