Nope; I shift 1/2. I throw it into 1st at any speed below 30mph.

While in 1st you can bounce off the revlimitter for ever. In 2nd you won't kick down to 1st or upshift to 3rd.

Says the guy with a modified C5z who has never gotten within more then 2 and a half seconds me at an autox. If you actually drove fast you might start breaking stuff.

2-1 downshifts at 30mph are not easy on a transmissions; it hits so hard it will lock up the rear tires sometimes.

Nope; stock valve body. What I described is stock function for a GTO.

1 is 1st only, 2 is 2nd only, 3 is drive but if you hit rev limiter you will go into 4th, D is overdrive.

Once I get rid of the stock POS shifter I'll do a the manual version of the transgo kit.

Yeah for our cars that's the case. Even second spins at times if not careful. Not sure why he's downshifting to 1st but oh well, it works for him.

Oh yeah, you forgot that you are on stickier tires and how mine are worn street tires. And when I said "Actually I have" I was including my fun runs, where I consistently knock off 2-3 seconds off of my best time during the normal runs. But since I can't "prove" that, they don't count, right? Actually, I may still have some slips lying around..

Fun runs are after competition runs. So he already has been around the track 2/3 times or more.

5th event I was in a Lotus Elise.
6th event I was in Cobraetti's Mustang on tires that might as well be round bricks. I do love that motor tho.

I run Bridgestone RE-11s. Birdman is on Vredestein Sessanta's if I remember correctly; I could be wrong tho. He runs way wider tires then I do tho; I'm still on a 8in rim.
