Rockville Regatta anyone?

Right now, there are 3 boats (mine included) meeting in the harbor at 6:30am and then heading up to the Rockville Regatta. Anyone else going?

I'm from Rockville. Until a few years ago I went every year for almost 20 years. I don't go anymore. No one from around there really does anymore either. It's too stupid now. People doing dumb shit ruined it for everybody.

Not very nice to call Wyatt and your friends girls.

Jail time is tempting, but no. BUI's will be plenty.

If I wasn't in TN this weekend I'd take you up on your offer.

PapaBear 08-02-2013 09:31 AM

My brother in law is DNR law enforcement. I get to hear all the stories now, lol. Last year there were 100+ law enforcement officers out there.

Back in the day, it was cool as shit. No one hounded you, no one bothered you, and you could just have a good time. Nowadays it's a party for teenie boppers and 20-somethings with daddy's boat. No fun.

I will, however, be sitting on the bluff in Rockville watching from afar.

1BAD4DR 08-02-2013 02:29 PM

Yea...it is a shitshow, I will have a few beers on the way and chill out as the day goes on, ppl will be drunk off their asses acting like retards...god help us if the tide changes, bunch of retards trying yo reposition boats

I tried this a few years ago. I was so worried about everyone with me being wasted and worried about the boat that I didn't even have fun. That's when I quit.

Y'all have fun and BE CAREFUL.

The last time I was there, the concentration of DNR officers was thicker than anywhere else I have been. They were pulling them over to the boat ramp and checking the drivers.

Expect even more this year. Bro in law says DNR, charleston county sherriffs, state fish and game, coast guard, and some state police. Make sure you are legal

snakeplissken 08-02-2013 07:19 PM

Never heard of State Fish & Game or State Police (other than State Transport Police).

Fish and wildlife sorry. Might even be a federal thing. I was pretty lit up for the conversation. I will talk to him tomorrow and update. Regardless of who's out there, you won't see me.

REDRAGTOPRS 08-05-2013 07:55 AM

We had a blast! LEO's were thick, but were not messing with anybody, as long as you stayed in the marked bouys......We got out there around 10am, and left around 4pm, and went to morris island for a while, followed by california dreaming.....

1BAD4DR 08-05-2013 01:00 PM

Man it was a blast, could not have been any better, had a guy in front of us get arrested for picking 4 fights on 4 separate boats, turns out he goes to the citadel...what an idiot

It's right down the ashley river from my house, so we usually go there every weekend by boat, as long as it's in the water....:bigthumb:
