make it easy on everyone...

either the Vette is has a VERY efficient drivetrain…or they under rated the new LT1 a little… If crank HP is 460 and they saw 416 at the wheels…that’s under 10% drivetrain loss. I understand there are variables with the chassis dyno…but still impressive!

I wish I had the cash....

I'm on the fence about the styling but I hear it looks good in person.

A friend has the second one in Charleston on order from Hendricks (so the salesman said), but GM hasn't started building it yet. Supposed to find out more tomorrow on its ETA. I don't think they have told him exactly what the "Market Adjustment Price" will be yet, but it will be at least 5k over sticker.

GreebeanZ28 09-24-2013 03:47 PM

Didnt I read somewhere about the low end torque of this new engine is supposed to be like LS7 torque or some shit? Sure looks like normal LS2/LS3 torks to me. Hell maybe I'm wrong.

Nice! Get him out to C&C one Saturday so I can come take a look at it.

Lisa's father was looking at buying a new(ish) 911, but has been swayed towards the C7. He read one of the articles that compared it to some of the higher end sports cars and noticed it hung in there for a fraction of the cost. I think it is a great buy for the money.

MonteC 09-24-2013 05:12 PM

Sounds like the new corvette has VTEC.

Bradleyrj 09-24-2013 05:24 PM

I want the performance of that car in something else that doesnt look like its from Star Trek. I cant stand how they look but could get behind the performance.

Stock LS7 Dynojet

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...06Dyno3001.jpg

LT1 dyno made 416tq.

pretty close, but lpe's graph has MPH x-axis, so I can't establish exact rpm, but it looks to be in the 4k range.

jmd 09-24-2013 07:38 PM

I saw one at the auto fair in concord this past weekend. It is good looking car.

Not to beat a dead horse, but, I've also heard the back looks much better in person as well.

I heard that it was featured on Top Gear just recently? Did anyone record it that can put it on Youtube?

I'm not saying that I'm fast, or had a fast car or anything...but my Z06 made 375/371, ran a quarter in 12.0, and this C7 made 416/416 but they only claim it will do a 12.0 1/4? And from what I saw from some magazine/website tests were more like 12.3-12.4? What am I missing? Is it because I had super cool hash marks?

RoadconeTuning 09-25-2013 08:32 AM

It weighs more than the outgoing vettes but the lateral grip that it has is absurd for how little tire is on it. I cant wait to start seeing them out and about. I want to shoot one to see if i can make it look as good in a picture as it does in person.

Did you really ask that? The American version isn't ever worth considering. But then again...the British one in the beginning wasn't very good either...so maybe in due time.

I was just asking which version the C7 was on. Calm down there Wes lol, trust me I know which one is better, been watching the real one religiously for years. Seen every single episode, even the early ones from the early 90's.

MARTYROBBINS 09-25-2013 10:16 AM

American they let tanner loose in Detroit with it on the show last night

Top Gear USA had it on last night. It wasn't really a valid test of anything; Tanner just thrashed it on a road course and then in a 4 block cordoned off area in Detroit where he turned all driver aids OFF and ran a street course through Detroit. Then again, the same course with all driver aids ON. It has a newer updated launch control and active management handling system Chevrolet says is "un-beatable" ON vs. OFF.

You could FK some people up with that car from a stop light and that new updated launch control system.

Lol I know. Was just messing around all theatrical-like.

Or as Matthias would say, "I like to type a lot."

I want to say MSRP on a Loaded Z51 Stingray without the Dealer Markup is supposed to be $55k.

In my opinion the new interior, aerodynamic and updated driver aid systems alone "easily" make the car worth that much in comparison to a C6 Z51.

Just read a Motor Trend Article that says the Z51 base is $55k, they had theirs loaded for $70k.

I think a lot of that has to now do with the hype. When they originally started talking prices this past spring it was supposed to be $55k. That may no longer be the case.

If that's the case I might want one. I hated my last vette but that thing is badass.
