New to forum

Just saying hello. I am Cliff-1972s younger brother. I used to run around on the streets and Cooper River/Dorchester dragway with a red 69 Nova which has unfortunately been wrecked for awhile :( Kind of got into BMWs since then!

Oh, if anyone was running on highway 52 heading towards Moncks Corner in a good sounding black Trailblazer SS this Saturday night around 12-1am, I was in that little silver BMW steadily pulling away from you :bigthumb:

svtguy 10-20-2013 02:58 AM

had a 335i 07. everytime i went to race/pass someone it went into limp mode, electrical disaster. is the 11' still TT? thought i heard they were going to single turbo.

Starting 11' they did switch to the N55 single turbo except in the 335is like I have still uses the TT N54 engine albeit with different factory tune/exhaust. No issues with mine so far.

'Twas me, the car sounded good man and I know cliff well. He's done some welding for me in the past and is the man. My truck isn't much from the higher speeds like we were doing, not making excuses just saying. The converter and weight don't help it from 60. Your car is sweet none the less!

That's cool! I wasn't even sure that was your truck that sounded good when I saw that older BMW beside you with the big muffler sticking out back. Then I was like wow, its the truck, lol. 60-150 where my car really shines though I was having some issues that night with timing get retarded. Cliff is a great welder and mechanic and did most of the work and tuning on my Nova along with my dad. Now all I need to tune is a laptop :)

I remember you, Daryl. I remember at one you had that little black turbo'd car though I can't remember what it was for the life of me. Haven't seen Bobby since Cooper River days or any of those guys like Jeff, Harry, Marcus with all the Mustangs. At one time any Friday or Saturday night you could go down Rivers Ave and see a red Nova chasing down a bunch of mustangs, lol :bigthumb:

Old video running against Daryl back at Cooper River. I am sure we were a lot slower back then, lol.

The black car was a Dodge Omni GLH Turbo. Harry and Bobby are still on here occasionally, Marcus got married and disapperared, although he still has the hatchback be bought in Florida sitting covered up in the garage. You can tell the older videos, I had a 306 on a 125hp plate running 7.50's back then..:bigthumb:

single turbo motor is just as horrible... actually sucks worse since its already strung out from the factory...

N54's would be great if they were reliable... no way i'd own one after talking to a few owners.

Got a couple buddies with the TT, as long as you have the warranty you're good lol. Even bone stock they are fun as hell to drive.

Speaking of the 435...I saw this base model 4 series the other day on Fort Jackson:

The HPFD failures are pretty much fixed on the newer BMWs. I like mine. Although, My X5 was problematic. Had to go.

Most people are saying the driving experience of the 4 series is not very good.

The HPFP issue finally got fixed. 76K is crazy! I really like the 4 series but I really really want the new M3/M4. I had the E46 M3 with the N/A straight 6. It cost what the regular 3 series cost now. If they are asking that for the 435 M-Sport then the M4 is going to be 90k??

I have read/heard that too! A lot of it has to do with the steering. It's become more targeted towards luxury and less towards spirited driving.

RoadconeTuning 10-21-2013 04:36 PM

an e92 m3 could be optioned to 89k last i checked. I would fully expect to see M3/M4's shoot over 100k... M5's are like 125k right now i believe.

I want to know what in the hell people are doing legally to be able to afford these things new... and in the volumes i see them.

speaking of old m3's... my buddy picked up a E36 M3 for like 4500 and turned it into a race car and won the South East Time Trails SCCA division and recently picked up a E46 M3 for something like 10k

Sadly they have slipped right out my price range. For 100k I'd start looking at the GTR.

I love the E36s and E46s. They are getting pretty cheap to own!
