Welcome to CHP. Im sure youll fit in well with the HeyBo chapter of CHP.

brokesmoke 10-25-2013 12:04 PM

Heybo?

Already sounds interesting.. lol

chrisheltra 10-25-2013 12:07 PM

Yeah the HeyBo group is getting larger on a daily basis. It consists of former race car/street car owners that have sold out and bought diesel trucks with tow mirrors and river race boats.

To be completely honest i have no idea. I've never put it down a track.

My estimate though considering the mods is that it will do a low to mid 13ish second quarter. I have another big box of parts coming in for it Tuesday to get it ready for the track to get an idea of where it's at..

BigdaddyDupree 10-25-2013 03:22 PM

Austin just don't tell them where you work or who you work closely with and you will be fine.

chrisheltra 10-25-2013 03:24 PM

Might need to change the name of the web site from Carolina horsepower to Carolina heybo. :)

BigdaddyDupree 10-25-2013 03:53 PM

I'm real suprised Chris read what he typed and didn't ask for cliff notes. You will be ok as long as you don't start going to the cigar meetings they have Austin.

ForceFed4g63 10-25-2013 04:40 PM

Appreciate it. I'm slowly starting to rebuild my front end. I've got the rare parts gen2 tie rods on the way and plan to order some of the cognito parts soon. Its also acting like it needs a fpr and tstats at the moment.

Still need to install my egr blocker, pcv reroute, and then shim it. After than it will get a downpipe, lift pump, and afe intake.

How big of tunes are you running?

Those tie rods are the tits.. i love mine.

I replaced my FPR about 4 months ago. It was a major PITA but the trucks runs so much smoother afterwards. I had about 2K PSI difference in my commanded vs. desired rail pressure and it was all over the map and didn't idle smooth.

That rail plug is tightened by the hand of god. Your going to want a good 6pt 18mm and alot of ass to get it loose. The blocker wasn't bad because i just put a strap around the wrench and pulled from the other side of the truck to get it broken loose so i had some leverage. And the down pipes aren't bad like everyone makes them out to be. I had mine changed in 2 hrs.

Lift pump always helps a ton since these trucks don't have one from the factory and that mouthpiece will help keep it cool if you tow and helps alot with flow.

Yea i know im rambling but seriously if you need a hand just let me know. I don't mind helping and its a night and day difference in the truck.

brokesmoke 10-25-2013 09:23 PM

Im running a modified stock tume, a heavy tow with turbo brake +40 hp, a light tow/DD +80 HP, a race tune +110, and a max effort tune for a stock trans at +150hp

Nice Dirty-Max Broke!

Those are proven trucks. I personally like the towing mirrors, got the same ones on my Silverado. Any suspension plans? lift?
