New to SC from upstate NY
 

Well, soon to be a new resident in the Greenville SC area. :)

Um. I'm a car guy. I do car guy things. Mostly fix broken stuff and start projects I never finish.

Pictures are fun. Here are the most recent toys. I'll probably start fresh once I get down to Greenville, SC. In the mean time, I hope to meet a bunch of new car guys. :cheers

I have a AR 80% and lower kit. Not sure if or when I'll get around to milling it out, but when I do I'll add some 'Murica stickers to my car! pew pew pew!


SVO has a funny story. Buddy going through a divorce, wife wants the value of the car in the split. Brings it to my shop, pulls the motor ( it ran perfect)

Wife's lawyer comes looking for the car, we bring him to the shop, open the hood "See, it's worthless".

Of course, the tragedy is that was some 6 years ago, and the car is just collecting dust.

look up Upstate Euro Car Club on facebook. I no longer associate with them but they are a big bmw crowd. BMWCCA is also based out of downtown greenville, sc. Cars and Coffee is at Michelin N.A. HQ every 4th saturday. Greer Dragway is open thursday nights and saturday at noon. the ricer meets are under "The New Ville" on facebook. if you're into truck stuff check out "Upstate Showoffz" on facebook as well. The local SCCA group is pretty cool around here. Central Carolina Region CCR-SCCA.

Welcome! I am from the greenville area as well! If you wanna talk some car talk and see some sweet cars, there is a cars and coffee meet at the end of every month at the Michelin building off Pelham Road in Greenville. I always try and make it out when I can and it's never a dull moment there!

btw, Michelin is doing a "sneak peek" of the BFGoodrich Comp2 All-Season tire that will be publicly announced on April 1st at Cars and Coffee this month. They will also be giving out some stuff.

The lady friend was offered an internal job transfer to a downtown greenville office - so we literally said "F-it , it will be exciting" And sold our current home in a week, and bought another one in Taylors ( we close on April 15th, so I'm still in NY for 2 more weeks).

I sold all my cars and looks like I'll just be bringing the Yamaha R1 down.

Once I know my telecommute is going to be viable with my current employer - or get a local job, I'll pick up something new to toy with. A locost 7 has been on the backburner for years and I think this is the place I'm going to put one together. We'll see, I have severe car ADD.

Nice Taylors is a nice area, I got my first house out here a couple years ago. It's equal distances to greenville greer and tr and it's away from woodruff road which is a PIA. Hope you like it, I'm sure you'll love the weather.

and I'm here! Moved in the new house Friday. Ordered a bunch of parts for the Yamaha R1 to cruise around in while I look for a new toy. In the mean time I've been getting the garage ready.Walls are going to be two tone white and gray with a navy blue divider. Should come out nice.

Bill of materials ( all from Home Depot) The things that are not listed that I used were a pressure washer ( not necessary) and hose.

Steps

-Check for sealer (concrete should absorb water, you're SOL if there's a sealer, must be stripped or grinded)
-Sweep/pressure wash
-Scrub with degreaser
-Acid etch
-Apply epoxy coating/flakes



Pretty straight forward. 4 hours total with 3 hours in prep work.

I was quoted $1,500 for the job. I did it for just under $225 with double the tools so two people can tackle it /WouldDoAgain

You're more than welcomed to borrow some of the tools if you decided to go for it, can't think of a time I'd use acid brushes or rubber boots again. Just grab the consumables :bigthumb:
