They're going to prep the track! j/k guys. you knew it was coming. |

why is it that the only people who complain about track prep at Dorchester are the people who don't need track prep to begin with?
just curious- and that was not directed at jay 99z- he just reminded me to ask the question. i often hear people in the staging lanes complaining about the track prep and i want to tell them- it's not the track. your car sucks, your suspension sucks, you can't drive, and those are just a couple of the reasons you are a fucking turtle. /rant |

Good thing I don't have that problem, I can hook on black ice at my power level!

I went to Low Country 3 weeks in a row, and could not get any better then a 1.6x 60'. With no other changes, I went out to Dorchester, and went a 1.4x 60' |

This was all by dorchesters timing system? :bigthumb: Sorry, I had to say it before he chimed in real quick. To me, at all my subturtle power levels I never had a problem, unless I was on street tires, but than again, you learn to drive and it is ok. |

i was talking specifically about Dorchester. People dog out the track all the time but the track hooks great, and 60' times are awesome there. i was ranting more about the guys with street tires on cars that are slammed to the ground, no real type of suspension, and they dump the clutch and blame Dorchester for their tire spin. It drives me nuts. side note- you guys cut 1.4x's in those heavy ass trucks? i had no idea, thats awesome! |

We've been told there is a Bowman track, and the wife and I haven't checked it out yet. Anyone have a link to their site or know what there schedule is like? |

:bs:why do all of the fast guys go to orangeburg to test real doorslammers?because they will over power a marginal track like dorchester. VPRC fastest chassis on the planet. :hail:sheppard is the best for some reason tho:confused:

Any particular reason that the tracks aren't open on sunday and don't do bracket racing? They are all about grudge racing around here, my broke ass doesn't have enough money to compete with you fast guys. |
Quote:
Both tracks are open on Sunday. You can always go up there and test and tune, you don't have to grudge race. I think midway does bracket racing often. |
I was talking about being fast enough to even compete.
About how long does it take to get to Bowman and Midway? |
depends on where your coming from?

Hell just the other night... we had a stock dodge Hemi truck trying to race a big tire, big block car.........and the race almost happened, except I think the big tire car got scared. :hysterical: Quote:

Orangeburg sucks!!! Thats the only track we have ever had any problems at with traction. I have run at Dorchester, Carolina, Boman, Lowcounrty and had the same 60's till I go to Orangeburg and spin. I have literly left Orangeburg and went straight to Boman and hooked at Boman all day and couldnt hook any at Orangeburg. Plus dealing with the clowns at the track there isnt worth the hassle. |

man are you serious? nobody is on here talking about ProMods. We are talking about local racers who go to the tracks every week. do you have a car from Vanishing Point or are you just nutswinging? or do you have anything at all? |
Quote:
hey man- dorchester does bracket races every now and then, midway does them all the time, bowman has some races too. but there are plenty of people who will "grudge race" each other for free at any of the tracks. just come out and i am sure you will have a good time no matter where you go. |

darlington on saturdays- quarter mile too
|
That's a hike from Goose Creek. I don't have a trailer, we have to drive the car and truck to carry the tires that I don't have.

yeah, that would be a long way then. i thought Midway ran on Saturdays last year- did that change?? Or have i lost my mind? I thought i remembered testing there on Saturdays to go to Dorchester on Sunday's. Could be wrong though. I know for sure i did that the night before i ran Michael Harmon but maybe that was a special event. |

Bowman is right outside of Bowman, and is literally in Orangeburgh. So instead of confusing everyone they started calling it Bowman. |

What a waste of time & money. I won't be attending this event ever again.....
|
Explain? I am sick so I did not make it.
|
I was only there for an hour and a half and only a few bikes ran before something happened & the track was down for over an hour. Heard they had just got back up and running after cleaning up a bike wreck that took about 1.5 hours. Took me about 15 - 20 min just to get parked & then I had to wade through the sea of people there.
|
It wasn't too bad early. My brother and I had at least 4 passes each in before 6.
After that there was an average of an hour wait to make a pass with all the bikes. I don't think I have ever seen so many people; must of been 5k+ people there. and half them wouldn't get out the road...... piled up on top of the staging lanes and the return road. |
