Yeah I'd love to race an event like this. I've been looking into their real street class for when the car is finished.

Nope. I'm going to concentrate on ORSCA EZ Street. It's hard to test with two different turbo sizes and two different tire sizes when it' s all brand new to begin with. Besides that, they are allowing wheelie bars for this race and that doesn't really interest me.

I am going to run all the other Outlaw Radial races though- i will have a little more testing under my belt by then. No need to show up unless you can go some 4.60's or better.

slowgreen99 03-01-2010 10:26 PM

Just wanted to let everyone know that this race was flat out bad ass! Me and WTFWSAT went up for Saturday, and holy shit at the turnout!

Wes help me out here, but from what I saw, David Wolfe set the new drag radial record with a 4.47! He went 4.49, 4.48, then 4.47 up until the point we left. He may have went faster on Sunday, but regardless that thing was on a rail!

chrisheltra 03-01-2010 10:38 PM

Embedding wouldnt work.

I think he went a 4.44. Five passes in the 40's radials, SS and no sissy sticks. MPH was awsome also 175 ish.

Check the post above yours. :poke:

WWhittle 03-01-2010 10:48 PM

David Wolfe is a bad mofo. Period.

LXtasy 03-01-2010 10:51 PM

Word is that the new goodyears took the win in the 275 radial class. Is this true? Supposedly a good amount of guys were running the GY's this year.

slowgreen99 03-01-2010 11:01 PM

I may be wrong, but from my understanding the "275" class was a mixture of 28x10.5 OR 275 radials...run bars if you wanna....Im not sure though, but thats how I thought they had it set up

Pirez won the class because he was the first person ever to have a set of drag radials, he has a nasty 632 on 3 guns, and he has as much or more experience than everyone else. It didn't matter what tire he was on. And btw, his tires were given to him.

There were two different classes that had 275 cars in them.

Moral of the story: don't get to excited yet. Let some more people pay for the tires and test them on their dime. LOL.

chrisheltra 03-01-2010 11:22 PM

How can these guy who are lighter with more power run on a tire that is smaller than a stock Lightning tire and tear shit up?

Very exciting.

slowgreen99 03-01-2010 11:24 PM

Like I told yall. Lightnings can work on a drag radial if you know how to set it up.

Show me.................

slowgreen99 03-01-2010 11:41 PM

idk off hand anyone that has done it, but i also dont see a truck that sheppard built either, just sayin.

WWhittle 03-01-2010 11:47 PM

A lightning should work on a radial without any issue. A radial likes weight.

1iron 03-02-2010 08:13 AM

If those Lightnings were front wheel drive they would have the weight in the right place to run DRs.

You are right, but you can still transfer weight in a lightning- even if the majority of it is on the front.

ASkipper 03-02-2010 09:26 AM

Another reason why those cars hook so good is the track was worked on a lot. I saw a post on another board where the track was so sticky that it was taking people's shoes off as they walked across it. A track that sticky will make for some good traction.

LXtasy 03-02-2010 05:59 PM

Almost anything can hook on a radial. Not everything needs a slick slapped on it. Especially with the 275 class. They are running way faster than 99% of the people on this board. Hell record on a 8.5" tire is in the 4's in the 1/8th also. SUSPENSION SUSPENSION SUSPENSION is what everyone pretty much says.
