Machine Shop with LSX torque plates?

Anyone local that can torque plate hone lsx blocks? Call up Don's in Moncks Corner and he doesn't have lsx torque plates. I have heard that SB Ford plates will work. If no one else has one then I will see if Don will try it with the SB Ford plate.

Simmons checked my heads out for me and said they were good. Then Ray found bent valves and unseated valve seals.

They did well on my LT1 though.

If you do go through them, only let mike touch your stuff.

I remember Matt and a couple of others that had problems with Simons. They do have LSx torque plates though.

Myself, Randy and Matt (02_L#416) have all had our blocks machined and internals balanced by Simmons with great success over the coarse of the last 2 years.

I would call and ask Elizabeth to make sure Mike does the work. As I said, they did a wonderful job on my LT1 stuff, but they screwed me on my LS1 heads.

I think they had some new kid "check" my heads.

How about the guys in O'burg that did all the work for Lorenz?

Fuck Mike, and fuck simons.

Ill never take anymore of my stuff to that place. I could care less how many people have taken their stuff there or the "luck" they've had. There is a huge difference in a small "mishap" and someone fucking your entire plans up. And yes Mike was the one working on my stuff.

Sinons won't do anything else for me either. I had a 540ci Chevrolet motor that kept eating main bearings. I had it re-done several times. I later figured out they were externally balancing an internal balanced motor. One of the re-builds caused me to have to re-bore the motor and buy new pistons. That was the most expensive motor I ever owned.

BAD BOB 11-26-2010 04:00 PM

my pops had a forged eagle crank he sent to simmons with some other stuff to have balanced and they jacked the new crank up by drilling almost all the counter weight off till they realize something was wrong and called to find out that they were balancing it for the wrong style motor. dad had to eat that one
