Yep. 6spd manual and 3.31s.

I have a feeling it is no contest who wins when it comes to '11 vs '11

1BAD4DR 12-30-2010 07:48 PM

I race for fun as well ... before I got the Mustang, I raced a stock '92 Integra LS with 270k miles in the Top Dog competition for fun, and have taken my '99 F350 dually down a few times - just enjoyed the "rush", never really had much of a chance of winning anyway, just worked on improving times/launches/etc . I've had pretty good luck with the Mustang at Dorchester though - most every race I was challenged to turned in my favor (there's been some exciting close ones too!) because people underestimated a little V6 driven by a girl . My video against a Challenger R/T has over 145 comments on YouTube of people arguing, cheering, and having panties in a twist :)

I don't put money on races, and the only crap talk I do is in good fun :bigthumb:

Thats funny as hell, I just went and found that video so I could read the comments.

Those stupid hemi owners are some of the worst fan-boy's Ive ever encountered I swear if the car has hemi or RT badge as soon as you buy it the alien's must come down and suck half your brain out.

I like any brand as long as its fast and there's nothing with an RT or SRT badge that has ever impressed me stock for stock versus some medium budget performance car.

Its extremely bad when you can buy the most expensive Dodge SRT challenger/charger and the most expensive Camaro SS and just get slap run over by the cheapest Mustang GT, then the non SRT or SS models get slap run over by the V6.

1BAD4DR 12-30-2010 10:42 PM

Anyone else coming out to bowman? Id like to see some turnouts like we used to have with all varieties of vehicles and all types of people?

Have to agree with most of this.

R/T's are pigs anyway.

When my dad bought the G8 there was a couple of things that helped us decide. 50k campared to 30k, 14mpg vs 26mpg, and the G8 is faster

Say it isn't so.....they have factory badges....they must be fast...

1BAD4DR 01-01-2011 07:32 PM

Ran the 5.0 today for the first time and was happy with the numbers.

8.01 at 89.99 with a 1.90 60 foot
7.95 at 91.54 with a 1.93 60 foot
7.91 at 90.45 with a 1.91 60 foot

60 foots are not where they should be, but i was happy with the first time out and hopefully will see some lower 7s in the near future with some taller/better tires :bigthumb:

Is the car completely stock? If so, that's strong.

Ronald 01-01-2011 08:00 PM

I would like to thanks every one who came out today.

How's the aftermarket parts market for the G8s now? Sad that Pontiac got the ax as opposed to Buick...especially after the Tiger Woods debacle...

You said it yourself those tires havent been used in 3 years. Plus they were a little too short.

LXtasy 01-01-2011 08:51 PM

I am curious. If they were short wouldn't they in theory raise the "numeric " value of the rear gear? Thus entailing a quicker time down the track as if you did a rear gear swap?

clubracergt1 01-01-2011 09:02 PM

That would be true, however, it sounds like there was an 'available traction' issue, as well

chrisheltra 01-01-2011 09:09 PM

Plus it caused him to hit the rev limiter.

LXtasy 01-01-2011 09:12 PM

auto or stick?

MonteC 01-01-2011 09:15 PM

Auto.

1BAD4DR 01-01-2011 10:07 PM

yeah the tires have been sitting for 3 years in the garage and was definately a little to short in my opinion. The 60 foots alone were terrible for such high mph and would spin thru 1st and half of second. I am looking at 28's or even 29's it they will fit. Nevertheless i had a blast and cant wait to go again when it is a little cooler and i have better tires.

Lurch 01-01-2011 10:18 PM

2011 5.0 Mustang

25" Tire's were slipping even when the car shifted, Also those tire's are 3" shorter than the stock tire's the stock shift points are around 7200 so add the shorter tire and slipping is why it was hitting the Rev limiters. Will do better with new drag radials

Lurch 01-01-2011 10:21 PM

Lightning

I was outrun by a Z-71 that was a strong truck in 4x4 I was on stock tires, Even whemn I hit 3rd gear the truck was spinning, Went and asked him to race again with slicks he said noway, Asked him to race Chris's truck he declined, Oh whell that's what I get for bringing a Knife to a Gun Fight LOL Had fun!!

Mitch I think that guy is on this forum actually. I was disappointed when he wouldn't run you with slicks. He is launching in 4 wheel drive. Sounds like he wont take a race when there is a chance of him losing.

Nope..The original owner is on here

slow94 01-02-2011 10:58 AM

So do you know what is done to the truck. He said a stock 5.3 with some nitrous, but that definitely isn't right.

cammed 5.3 with nitrous. He wont run for free either. Just sayin.

bwelch 01-02-2011 11:17 AM

well It had an afr headed 6.0 with a couple kits on it. Peanut said it was a 5.3 with a cam and a 250 shot now. I dont think the 6.0 is in it but I could be wrong.

bwelch 01-02-2011 11:20 AM

It just doesnt neutral rev like an afr 225 headed 6.0 with a cam. It revs slow like my 5.3 truck does

Hahaha, they haven't been sitting 3yrs. They were on the car when I was going back to MIR in sept of 09, the event ended up getting canceled but they got some street miles on them then. They've been sitting unused for about 15 months or so, but the last time they saw the track they were cutting 1.5's on my car after sitting for over a year.

Homo just needs some more seat time in that beast and to heat the tires up more. He was trying to be gentle and not burn the tires up too much.

Lurch 01-05-2011 10:56 PM

Money for Race!!

I don't know who the Z-71 owner is but everyone say's he won't race for FREE!! Unless someone bet on me he raced me for Free, I'm sure he did because he stopped and waved me to the gate's when there were several car's in front of me, I think it was fun to lose the race now he needs to race a real truck, Fun or not I enjoyed the note on how SLOW my Truck really Is. Now Man Up and Race a Real Lightning, Bill's, Daryl's,Chris's,Randy's and Enjoy the Win or Loss. My Two Cent's Lurch:bigthumb:
