2011 CHP True Street list.
 

Here is what I"m thinking about

Rules: (subject to change)

1. Car must be driven to the track

Let me know if you want on the list, hopefully we will get enough cars to make this class work.

why not do this.... everybody show up, enter the race, then qualify and then do a ladder sheet for that race. why have call outs. I think there will be more of a turn out for this format. if you are not called out or do not call someone out, you are less tempted to bring your car. i think the racing will be closer with a ladder sheet for each separate race

Gives us something to BS about for the 3 weeks we aren't at the track doing a TD event. Ray had plenty of close races last year during his top dog races.

Ray & Tyler were talking about doing the same thing.

I mean how much e.t. can an ac cost you. At most a tenth, for me it's not worth sacrificing comfort on a real daily driven street car for at most a tenth of a second.

boo on the ac required. and boo for having all seats installed. i say atleast carpeted and cant see floorpans. hell i have bought several vehicles that didnt have working ac.

me too, and it was one of the 1st things I got fixed.

I don't car either way since I'm in Texas but the A/C rule seems kinda out there. It doesn't effect the cars et by hardly anything at all (less than a .10), you can't race with it on so what does it matter if you have it on the car or not? If someone drives there car around and drives it to the track without a/c in SC's hot ass summer's then I think they earn the right to race in the street class.

id rather race in the extreme street and lose with a good clean pass then race in the street class and get beat by a v6 mustang cuz I cant hook for shit. lol :poke:

i say, you must drive to track on regular street tires, but can swap tires if you want once you arrive to the track.

No. I just wanted to better clarify what tires can be run and what tires are not allowed.

My A/C works like a champ. I'd be interested in "True Street" class. That said at very min. a DR is allowed as those can be used on highway year around. My 555r's tested in Ohio snow. Verdict, slow it the f*ck down and you'll make it home.

My 18" Mickey Thompson Drag radials performed just as good as stock tires in the rain.

The "real" Top Dog Class is made up of all street cars.

Haven't came up with the final rules for that class, but at the very least all cars need to be Licensed and registered. Guys that drive their cars and have no ac, will be more than welcomed in that class.

Actually cars made since the 1980's were designed to release the AC Clutch under full acceleration or when the TPS signal is over approx 3.5 volts....so even though I like the idea of a working AC (mine works), it is of no significance in a Drag Race........FYI
