Good luck!!! These Gen 2 guys need to step it up for you.

slow94 02-11-2007 10:10 PM

Mike 02-11-2007 10:12 PM

Maybe Larry can make it out, and not let us Gen 2 guys down. Show this Gen1 how we roll :D

slow94 02-11-2007 10:15 PM

I only race gen2's with 4lber's or less!!! This weekend will be my test in not red lighting. I'm gonna have to cut a .000

slow94 02-11-2007 10:30 PM

maybe you should schedule to get it tuned in the morning and then race at night

chrisheltra 02-11-2007 10:32 PM

Id love to but its a 3 hour ride there and back, and after putting my wife through all that I dont think she would find any humor in us going to the track

A 4lb is all I have on my truck. Got a 6 in the box in the attic, though. I don't think I'll make it to the track for a few more weeks. I will try to go one time before Lowcountry closes.

Your truck runs great. Just bump the boost up a little.

I just got back home from the Charlotte Boat Show. Sounds like everyone except for Mike had a good time at the track. I heard they told you to get a cage.?? See what happens when you go too fast?

Didn't you have a 6lber on there at the track last time?? It looked just like the one on my dad's truck. It looked bigger than the one that was on chris's truck.

Whaler 02-11-2007 11:23 PM

It's only a 4lb. lower. I put it on for the winter because I didn't want it to go Kaboom with the cold air. Both Jim at JDM and Arthur at AVT Performance reccomended the 4lb for the winter, and they know a whole lot more than I do about the these trucks, plus I'm a chicken $h!+ about pushing the limits of a stock block. My tunes are for 12 and 14 degrees, which are low timing setups. I have a race tune that I will try when it warms up.

Three of us got a warning that night!!! Mike, my son and me
Slow down or cage and Fire retard. suit.

chrisheltra 02-11-2007 11:35 PM

lets start planning now were are we going to go when the track shuts down

05Saleen 02-11-2007 11:38 PM

Midway is 45 min. from the creek. Nice track. They are supposed to be getting Lowcountry's timeing system. Dorchester is 45 min. also Different type of crowd, but not as strict on rules! for cages or suits.

chrisheltra 02-11-2007 11:43 PM

any 1/4 around

DolSVT00 02-12-2007 12:06 AM

Ya I think it will be dorchester for me too.
Only 1/4 I know of are carolina(3hrs) and darlington(2hrs)?

Thats a ride, dorchester sounds good hows the track. I heard there are R&R tracks in the middle of it is that true + all the brothers out there placing bets kinda make me nervous. ( not to offend anyone)

Mike 02-12-2007 12:51 AM

Dorchester is great. Owners of the track are great people. RR tracks at the end of the track, few hundred feet past the end of the shutdown. They shut the track down anytime a train goes by just in case someone needs more room than the shutdown to stop.

Don't worry about all the betting, it is 10x more entertaining than pinks. Thats all it is, entertainment.

You jump the RR tracks at midtrack. It's fun. Just kidding Chris.

Mike is right. I have heard guys say that "Pinks" is fake. I promise you, everything that you see on Pinks, and then some, goes down at a real grudge racing track. My best friend stands at the starting line at Lowcountry Dragway and does the "dollar bet" thing with his buddy on every race.

91notch 02-12-2007 09:05 PM

Dorchester is a great track in my opinion. I've gone there in the past way more than lowcountry and have never had a problem. I usually run better times at dorchester as well. Like mike said earlier the owners and people who run the track are great people. There is a lot more interesting street-car racing going on there as well.

This is def. where i will be going when lowcountry closes.

perm102 02-12-2007 09:46 PM

I agree. The first time I went to dorchester was on a "big" night and we had to park in the field on the end. I didn't know what to expect but I have not had a problem out there.

LXtasy 02-12-2007 10:31 PM

I won some money out there.

///Mcompact 02-12-2007 11:41 PM

The only time I go to Low Country is when I am board and some of you will be up there (I have only made maybe 6 or 7 passes down that strip in the rice-box..total).

Otherwise, I go to Dorchester. I run better times there, more street cars to run with, more isht-talking (not directly..just in the background), and hardly any breaks in street car action except for the occasional train and money race. Taking that all into account, you'll get way more runs in at Dorchester.

They are also less strict about helmets and don't require you fill out a questionnaire and walk it to the tower.

slow94 02-13-2007 07:45 PM

do they have race gas there??

Mike 02-13-2007 07:51 PM

There is a VP dealer that comes up there and sells gas out of his trailer.

I think your best bet is to go by Bouchillon and get some there. Bouchillon gives you a discount the more gas you buy.

slow94 02-13-2007 10:37 PM

who, what, and where is Bouchillon???

LXtasy 02-13-2007 10:39 PM

www.bpelowcountry.com

They are located in Hanahan. N.Rhett near Remount Rd

Mike 02-13-2007 10:42 PM

You can also buy race fuel at the Gas Station in Goose Creek next to Parks. 110 Octane Leaded for 5.99 per Gallon. Make sure you don't have Cat's running leaded fuel.

LXtasy 02-15-2007 07:14 PM

I thought at the station in goose creek it was UNLEADED 110 they had
