Dorchester Import v/s Domestic Challenge
First off, we would like to thank everyone that braved the cool temps and came out to our 1st Import night. We had a total of 57 cars racing with 42 of those being imports. There was a wide variety of cars, ranging from Supra's to Bmw's and Lexus. The Evo's were definately impressive. With that being said we may try to have one more before it really turns cold. We was thinking of having a Import v/s Domestic race. Evo's v/s Ford Lightning. 8-10 car field (4-5 cars each brand) $500 to win, FREE entry. Any feedback on this idea would greatly be appreciated. Would it even be a fair race?

street cars would be fun, then them race cars would show up and take our monies.

:D

Problem there is... everyone thinking they have a street car. Would need a serious set of rules and would be nearly impossible to make sure everyone is following them. |
hell yea im down
|
v--- street car
|
Sounds like a good idea. I would enter the g/f's Cobalt SS just to see this happen. That was the most fun I have had in a while...
|
Did someone say $500 and Lightning? :)
|
maybe darryl can bring his truck out of hiding for a quick $500

@ Mark, as long as you drive it thru the gates and it has tags and is a daily driver no problem. We want to keep it strictly street cars to make it fair for the imports.

Daily Driven
If it has tags, then it's insured for Highyway use and can be daily driven. Were just trying to come up with some simple rules to keep it an even playing field.
|
easy. Real street tires. No radials or slicks, doesnt matter if they are dot approved or not. Show up with real treaded street tires, something hard enough you can get 30k miles out of them. (id go 295 at the biggest).
Thats the only stip you need. If zac, robert, and carl can make it down the track on a set of those then they are in. |
You may have a good point Montec. I know of a Vette, Supra and Lightning that may enter. The simpler, the better! It's FREE to enter race, It's all about the fun!
|
It'll be hard to do... Zac, Chris and Robert are all "street" cars but are FAST.
My 2 cents would have to say stock suspension, no fuel cells. Registered and insured a must. Along with all the typical street car things lights, wipers etc.... |

power managment! just let me get time to do some testing on a real radial tire and i will try with them

Then dont enter. Here's how I see it. The "daily driven" race is like the special olympics, us retarded people want to go against other retarded people. Then the real olympiads (mentioned above) show up acting retarded and clean house. Why cant yall just let us retards have something. |

Ugh, because a 8 second car on street tires can be a 6 second car on radials. Im telling ya, one easy rule, easy to check at the gate. REAL TREADED STREET TIRES. |

We would like to do this race before time change back and before the fair starts. Would it be possible to do it next weekend (Oct 16), is this possible or should we wait until November after the fair?
