drag radials

im torn between Nitto NT05R...M/T ET Street...Hooiser QTP...whats yall .02? sizes are 315/35/17 driven on the street

Matts94Z28 01-14-2012 09:27 AM

Since you do not take the car to the track often, but still DD it, I would go with the Nitto. The QTP and M/T will wear out too fast and be unsafe if you get caught in the rain.

shts_weak 01-14-2012 09:42 AM

thanks man, im just sick of blowing my tires away in 1st,2nd and 3rd when messing around

There is a huge difference when i had them. I run the MT now and even at 600+ to the wheels they barely chirp in 2nd. I ran nittos right before i had the MT at the same power lvl i could just stand on the gas and go through 3 gears spinning. MT wont last as long...and dont bother trying to drive in the rain at all, but they hook like crazy on the street. I even prefer them on the street vs my MT et street slicks.

Your going to do that with the nittos, mt all the way!

KRYPTONITE 01-14-2012 11:26 AM

Don't go with the MT et streets. They suck all around. Never had good luck with them

shts_weak 01-14-2012 12:08 PM

ET streets is what tore up your car so they hook good...

bwelch 01-14-2012 12:10 PM

The new nitto hooks pretty good on the street but thats at around 450rwhp.

ShawnBoyMoody 01-14-2012 12:17 PM

Dont know if you missed anything. Im just saying ET Street RADIAL cause there is a big difference between ET Streets and ET Street Radials.

slowgreen99 01-14-2012 12:35 PM

hoosier radials....they work better than mickeys :D

Matts94Z28 01-14-2012 12:38 PM

ET Street RADIAL will probably hook the best, but you won't get much out of them driving on the street a lot. It will still be dangerous in the rain as well.

I have heard good things about the NT05's. I know some of the ZO6 guys use them with luck.

Just my opinion of course.

slowgreen99 01-14-2012 12:39 PM

any good hooking tire will suck in rain, that's for sure. So youre best bet would be to have 2 sets of wheels and be done. Good tires on pretty/track days, and regular radials for the ugly days.

shts_weak 01-14-2012 12:50 PM

definitely... i really wanna buy a set of weld alumastars but i dunno if i wanna fork out the $$$ since my ccw's hurt me pretty bad :( anyone wanna buy the ccw's? lol

shts_weak 01-14-2012 01:39 PM

ive done some looking and cobra/corvette owners are pointing to this for the best street tire? Toyo Proxes R888? ppl with 600+ are hooking with them :)
