buddy wants one to WORK, hunt hogs, crawl thru mud
wants a gun that RUNS, obviously, but not a safe queen. cash in hand, just wants to buy second hand, since he is gonna work it. no optics needed. wants collapsible stock to be able to run thru woods. there a Bushmaster on a local car forum for $600 while back, so figured would ask. PM or LMK you got. |
Don't think I've ever seen anybody hug hunt with a rifle lol.
My personal weapon of choice when I go hog hunting: http://www.slickguns.com/sites/defau...500_AA300_.jpg |

Big Mac Maybe it's the double layer of sear-sizzled 100% pure beef mingled with the sauce and melty cheese, the snap of the onion and the tart crunch of pickle. Or maybe it's just that it's tall. Either way, you so want one. http://www.mcdonalds.com/content/dam...ds-Big-Mac.png |
The M&P's new are around 700...pretty basic but atleast it's new.

eastcoast does sell PSA stuff. When me and Adam went in there last week I saw several ar style rifles for less than $700. And of course one nice FULLY loaded (imo) one for $1400 and change.

I bought my base model rock river for around $700 new at ATP. I've got a lot more than that in it now
|
Walmart has a DPMS .223 for 575 here in Conway.

You get what you pay for. My Ruger 556 6.8 caliber AR-15 was $1719.xx tax and all out the door. It's badass and obviously not what he needs. I'd say a Bushmaster would be fine and they can be had new in the $800 range.
Why an AR/M4 to hog hunt? there are plenty of other more practical options. I almost always use my 12 gauge slug gun. It's never failed me yet. |
i would tell him to get an ak, i used to hog hunt before i came in and everybody i knew that hunted with rifles used the ak, durable easy to maintain and they will actually take a hog down unlike an AR style rifle. I will never own a 223/556 rifle of my own when you can buy a 308 or 762 for near the same price if not cheaper.
