WTB: Shotgun

Anybody have one they're trying to get rid of? Preferably 12 gauge pump but 20 gauge is ok too. Trying to pick one up for Father's Day for my Dad. Let me know what you have, thanks!

How much are you wanting to spend? I don't have one for sale, but you should be able to find a decent pump shotgun for a reasonable price at any of the sporting goods stores.

Also check out www.armslist.com
Every now and then there is a good deal to be had on there.

Looking to spend around $300. I'll check the stores, just wanted to see if anyone on here had one they wanted to get rid of, I got lucky last time lol.

I almost picked up a Mossberg 500 for $300 this weekend at a gun show. See if there is a show around you.

Gunshow this weekend

I've got a gently used Mossberg 500 turkey camo I would be willing to part with. I bought it brand new about 10 years ago and it hasn't been shot very much, maybe 20 turkey rounds, 10 buckshot rounds and 200-300 light skeet loads. It's got the 24" ported barrel with a xx-full turkey choke (factory one) and also I have a 28" blued barrel with a modified choke (for skeet/birds). The 28" barrel bluing is not pretty, but it works and shoots fine. Only cosmetic flaw on the gun is at the front of the tube where a dumbass friend of mine used pliers when reinstalling the spring and scrapped the finish.

I also have a Indian Creek black diamond strike .660 choke tube that has had maybe 10 rounds fired thru it. It was $80 new.

I'd sell it with both barrels and the black diamond strike choke tube for $325. I have not used it in 4-5 years except to skeet shoot. I bought a Mossberg 835 and now use it to turkey hunt instead of this one.

Let me know if this interests you. I've had it since I bought it new in 2002. No need to sell, but I'll never really use it again.

That's what I have, the Police Magnum. My Dad won't be doing as much with it as I do so I'd be ok with getting him a Mossberg too.

Matts94Z28 06-01-2012 01:53 PM

Nathan, that is a pretty good deal.

I know. I got a good deal on the 835, so trying to pass a good deal on.....

By the way, this gun has never been for sale. I just don't use it, so I figured maybe you could get good use out of it. I've not ever had a single issue with it.......other than it's a bit heavy for dove hunting.

That's exactly what it will be used for, but my Dad's a big dude so I don't think that will be as much of an issue. Any idea if that barrel is interchangeable with a Remington 870?

oldskoolstang 06-02-2012 12:30 AM

The 28" barrel? I doubt it. It's a genuine Mossberg 28" blued barrel with internal screw-in modified choke. It works really well for skeet and doves. I've never even tried skeet or dove hunting with the 24" barrel since the only 2 chokes that I have for it are tight turkey chokes.....Last time I went skeet shooting I got 82 out of 100 and the only person in our 8 man group that did better than me had a $2k+ Browning over and under. I did better than the guys with 870's, Franchis, Benelli, and other all much more expensive guns.

oldskoolstang 06-02-2012 12:31 AM

A good friend of mine is pretty interested in it if you don't want it.

A saw a couple a couple Mossberg .20 guage at Money Man Pawn on Remonut Rd. Both were under $150. Just thought I'd throw it out there.

oldskoolstang 06-02-2012 02:48 AM

Money Man does have some good prices. I've bought a couple guns there.
