WTB: cheap RELIABLE import for kids DD ~$3000

buddie's son just bought a honda civic, did a grand in maintenance (timing belt, "might as well's", tires, brakes)

and got rear ended few days ago.

crumpled it.

needs a replacement.

he is not mechanically inclined, basically wants something he can pay for, put gas in, and go down the road.

For 3k and apparently simple and a gas saver.......might as well find another Civic......

Yea except the prices are so bloated right now its crazy. People want like 4k for an 88 civic with 200k miles.

LXtasy 07-27-2012 05:50 PM

Does it have to be an import?

04ctd 07-27-2012 10:04 PM

list it up, and i'll cut & paste it to him.

JTStreet 07-28-2012 08:52 AM

Bet you can find a Focus for that price.

Something had to be wrong with it. I have never seen one go for that cheap. Other models sure. Wife had a focus. Wasnt a bad car. Until the a/c system went out with 50k on it. We bought it brand new and spent almost 2k on it and it wasnt 100% fixed so she got rid of it. Off topic i know.

ForceFed4g63 07-28-2012 01:57 PM

Only thing bad was that it had 150k miles.

Zing!

focus and cavalier alike arent "bad" vehicles, they just dont have the long term quality most older drivers desire. so if someone can deal with interior rattles, engine noise, shitty paint, etc then they are OK. i would take a 200k mile civic over a 100k mile focus or cavalier anyday though.

can said "kid" drive manual or auto only?

We are talking about stock foci. Not ones with proline motors, so settle killa.

LXtasy 07-29-2012 11:08 AM

Team Jacob....buy this focus.
