Holy crap.
|
That is pretty cool.

I recommend that system all the time for work at the wood / cabinet shops I visit. In the work comp insurance world, a finger costs the insurance company about 10k per digit that is cut off. 2 digits = 20k. Multiple digits on multiple fingers and the cost goes up exponentially. Those new sawstop saws are not cheap, 4-5k retail. BUT overtime the amount of money it saves the insurance company and the employer whose employees have all their fingers makes it very affordable.

those have been around for a few years, they used to have a late night infomercial and they used hotdogs to show it working. the amount of energy that it absorbs is insane.

I coulda used one of those a few years ago...
|
Very nifty. I wonder if it will false trigger on some rather wet freshly treated lumber?

Or what if your hand slips and hits the blade rather quickly/forcefully? They test it very slowly in the video.. |
I guess you can't cut up people to get rid of evidence with that product.

Thats what wood chippers are for.

We have one of those in our building trades shop at KapStone paper mill. And yes it does save fingers:bigthumb:
