Carl's mobile detailing service...

Carl polished up my garage queen red car...and I put it in the garage, and it got dusty before I could ever take pics (okay, so maybe it was like a month or three before we drove it again, to the CPS business day?).

he gave me a good price on it, and i think part of the deal was I supposta post pics and help him drum up some business....so yeah, fail on my part.

here's the good deal: I dropped the car off at his house, and he washed it and cleaned it up, then put it in the shade of his garage, and waxed & polished on it on & off throughout the day.

and I think he delivered it back the next day, but he did not rush & just get it back to me, he did it PERFECT and took his time.

he did some stuff, like blacking the window trim, that we did not discuss, that he said was free of charge.

him keeping it at his house was VERY convenient for both of us. the work was AWESOME, and the car still looks great. He removed ~12 years worth of swirl marks, DD trash & scratches, and made the paint perfectly smooth.

and best of all the car was safe & sound in his garage, out of prying eyes.

so here, recently, I had him come up & do my motorcycle: I took the bike apart, and laid all the parts on moving pads, and washed everything, and did not dry it.

he cleaned it with some stuff, and then waxed/polished it up. he did some multi step thing, he can explain all that.

that was 15 Feb, and the bike still looks FANTASTIC.
we rode it in the rain to the "blessing of the bikes" at HD last week, washed it, and you can tell Carl used good stuff, it cleaned right up, and looked great again.

the bike did not look this good when it was new. the metal flake really POPS now. we had it out tonite under street lights & head lights, and it POPS.

he ain't cheap...but his quality and attention to detail is worth it.

of course, PB compresses stuff, and my new phone (S3 mini) is a potato, but you get the idea, because you can see the camera in most of the pics:

nah, Matt & Zac did a Z06 for a buddy...they did great work too.
but we kinda stood around & watched Matt & Zac, so it took up our day too.

the way Carl did it, I had my whole Saturday to go enjoy, instead of being tied up with him & the car in my driveway, and having to coordinate schedules & stuff to be there to put it back away.

and Carl did not have to say "I would have done this...but I did not bring a tool I needed"
he had all his tools, and all the time he needed.

I think Selepack Auto Detailing now offers mobile detail AND on site detailing at Charleston Performance Solutions for your convenience!

Contact Matt or Zac for details

I have used Matt and Zac for details. I just found humor in the picture.

Nice work Carl, :bigthumb: If I didn't do my own detailing I would give you a call.

Matts94Z28 03-11-2014 12:13 PM

Just to be clear, Zac and I do not require anyone to be around while we refinish a vehicle.

yeah, we just watched because we had never seen a car done, like they did the Z06.

and to be clear, i don't think it matters which one you use, they both drastically changed the cars from "mundane" to "outstanding"

just figured I owed Carl the decency to post my experience with him.

Subscribed. I'll tell you who NOT to use....that lil ministry carwash that John posted up about a while back....But, that's for another thread. I'll bump that later and share my experience.

In.

Mind you I wasn't expecting a detail, just a carwash. Ended up redoing it when I got home.

I was simply posting support for a good friends business in a thread that seemed to have slightly negative comments toward them.

I don't think you should be posting anything negative about anyone on here. It could open up a can of worms that is better left alone.

Why? Because your "good friends" can't speak for themselves? It was a persons OPINION. God forbid two business co-exist on the same forum.

By the way open up that can of worms anytime you're ready to go fishing. I'm ready.

Just to be clear, I am not in "business". I just happen to have thousands of dollars worth of detail products and equipment. I worked on the Camaro for 10 hours and it came out really great using every product and tool in my inventory. The bike recieved a waterless wash to make sure to get any spots john missed, then an IPA wipedown, followed up with some Brilliant Glaze and finished with Adam's American Premium Paste wax. Best part was the conversation and the free lunch!! Best pasta this side of the river! ha!

MonteC 03-11-2014 09:34 PM

Yeah joe shut up. You can't have OPINIONS.
