Help finding a Terminator or C6 in Upstate SC

Looking for a Terminator or a C6 Vette, maybe even a C5 if its one of the last years with lower mileage, in the upstate area.

-I'm thinking of spending 22k max depending on the car, but cheaper is better.-

Most of the Vettes and Termis in the upstate area are priced too much over KKB.

Just seeing if anyone knows of any in the upstate area. I've combed through craigslist, but could use some help.

Also may consider a G8 or CTS-V, but really leaning toward a Terminator or C6 Vette. Maybe open to other suggestions. Looking for a new toy SOON. It's been too long since I had one.

GreebeanZ28 08-13-2014 11:45 AM

For 22k i'd sell you my GTO!

ASCII_Porn 08-13-2014 11:59 AM

Cents? LoL

ASCII_Porn 08-14-2014 08:33 AM

Since the upstate sucks, has anyone got a Terminator, C5, or C6 (probably not gonna find one for 22k or under in SC) for sale, personally, or know a friend, anywhere in SC?

RoadconeTuning 08-14-2014 11:08 AM

you should be able to find every one of those for under 22k anywhere... these were just what i grabbed off the front page of each of their respective for sale sections...

My c5 was garbage, and it wasnt even a base model.

1SMKN99 08-14-2014 12:20 PM

There are a few termis on svtp that aren't too far right now.

That's what I heard. It all depends on how well cars are taken care off. With the crap quality GM puts out on it's interior in those days, it takes more than just keeping one in a garage when you not driving it. From my experience, most people don't know how to take care of their cars, and just let them fall apart.

I'm check that out now...

Also, I just got done checking and test driving this one:

http://greenville.craigslist.org/cto/4598078928.html

http://images.craigslist.org/00t0t_4...77_600x450.jpg

Body and interior was in great shape, except for the cheap gauge pods everywhere falling off their mounts. The engine seemed to be in good shape, but the tranny grinded when going into any gears. Like the clutch cable wasn't adjusted right, or someone fucked the clutch install.

And, GODDAMN, I remember clutch cable car's clutch pedals being stiffer, but FUCK. Something was wrong with this one. It took all my strength just to press the clutch in. Even the owner couldn't' press it in well or shift right without grinding gears.

It had a 2.8 pulley on, and the car seemed slower than it should be. My old cammed LS1 Trans Am seemed to faster.

The owners AFR gauge was broke at the time, and I didn't have time to get my scanning equipment or my LM2 hooked up to check out the tune.

The current owner said the previous owner stated it had around 600 HP to the wheels. LOL. Current owner guesses it closer to around 550. Bwhahaa. Guess that should have been my first clue.

That was the first Terminator I ever drove, and it's made me want a Vette, even if it's a C5.

I hope the next Termy I'm going to test out, which seems like an even more beat on one, doesn't have as stiff as a clutch pedal. Here's the next one I got lined up to look at, Higher mileage and more beat up, it seems:

if the cable is fucked its nearly impossible to push the clutch in.

Then it must be fucked. When I told him something may be wrong with the cable, which was spongy and hard as hell to move, he said it's normal for cable clutch cars. HA.

It is normal for cable clutch cars. Now his may have been screwed up but cable clutch cars are harder in general. All of my manual transmission cars have been hydraulic.

03SVTCOBRA 08-14-2014 06:13 PM

the clutch issue could be as simple as a firewall adjuster. If its a aftermarket clutch without a adjuster at the firewall then its never going to shift right or feel right. Also what is done to it? 550-600 would almost have to be twin screw status. Its possible around 550 with a ported to hell eaton and some ragged edge tuning, but thats still pushing it unless its tuned on e-85. even then the fuel pump and injectors if they are stock wouldnt make it. Pm me if you find one you like, ive pretty much taken apart and put together everything on 03/04 multiple times.

I've had a mix of cable and hydrolic clutch cars. It has been a while since I had a cable clutch one, but they were never this tough, even with a beefer aftermarket clutch and pressure plate.

ill say also, look for a coupe unless you like to drive around like a granny and get some sun. I had both and enjoy the coupe 100x more and you dont have to worry about twisting it up with the tq those cars make and then the windows never sealing back up. With a 2.8 its not close to 550, i would say probably 450ish unless the blower is ported too.

No worries on that. I hate verts. Only reason im looking at one this weekend is to get a feel if I want a Cobra or not. The Cobra I looked at today didnt feel like a good representation.

Going to call about this one... 2005 Corvette for $18,950 in Kannapolis, NC.

Higher mileage, 93,217, but not way above KBB like the rest:

http://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/4609677543.html

KBB Very Good Condition Private Party Value: $19,104

ASCII_Porn 08-14-2014 11:03 PM

After some research, that may be a small car lot. Something has to be wrong with it to be priced at the "Good" private KBB condition at a small car lot.

Are there any carfaxers out there that can do a carfax on and see if there is anything interesting in the report?:
1G1YY24U855107269

Nevermind... I checked it, no accidents reported. 6 owners, 3 of them dealers. Last guy purchased it as a private vehicle, just happens to own a dealership.

Driving up to see this Vette tomorrow.

ForceFed4g63 08-14-2014 11:14 PM

I've got a 2005 CTS-V I may be willing to part with, send me a pm if you're interested.
